Hi,
i have a 02 jazz gli

would the factory cd player be good enough to support a amp + sub and maybe new set of speaks with tweeters?

or i should pay $220 for a double din face plate and get a mp3 player instead?
i'd perfer using the factory cd player coz i can save $500 easily without the face plate + mp3 player

cheers

i have a mate which does exactly as what you mentioned, the speakers u buy must not higher than what the stock can support

you cant amp them unless the amplifier accepts high level inputs (direct speaker inputs)

the best solution is to get a 4 ch LOC (line out converter) which converts high level speaker output into low level (RCA) output which allows you to use RCA to send signal to the amp. you can get these from most jb or car audio stores and they are about 80 bucks or so depending on the brand.

you can then use a 4 ch amp, using ch 1 and 2 for front splits/coax and bridge ch 3 and 4 and use it for a sub, i recommend a 10 in for space

and you'll have a pretty decent system while retaining full functionality of you steering wheel control (if you have them) and the stock look

Hello Hiko... if i was you i will get a aftermarket head unit... Honda Jazz stock unit is shocking... I myself changed my head unit recently for a Alpine CDA-9887.. and it sounds way louder than stock... you don't really need subs just get a amp and hook up the speakers thru the amp and u be fully sick uleh!

thx for all the help...
im trying to save as much as i can and try to keep the car stock as possible...

is is possible to get a 4channel amp with mono for the sub would that be cheaper instead?

considering that the head unit is not gonna do much on good speakers and amp... i think the best way for me is to get the din and head unit..

yep. most 4 channel amps, you can combine (bridge) ch 3 and 4 to run the sub.

to your 2nd statement, it really depends what you want from you sound system. if your after sq then upgrade your headunit. if you want a nice sounding system while retaining the factory look then get a LOC. i suggest you google to understand a bit more about them, maybe you'll be more confident going down that path.
