Hi everyone,

I just purchased a 1998 Accord (V6L model). It has only done 25,000km, which is awesome.

Anyway the car had been sitting in a garage for 2 years so I've taken it straight to my mechanic to get a major service and a timing belt change.

Is there anything I should be looking out for? Are there any serious faults or things that fail in this car?

Thanks!

4k with no rego and needed a new battery. Pretty sweat deal.

Edit: how bad is the auto box? Hopefully won't cause me any issues since it has such low ks.

I hope the car was driven regularly in that 2 years. Low kms is not always a good thing.

they're pretty bad. they are the only downside of what is otherwise an excellent car

i think the average failure was at something like 113k for the ones that fail

Change the tranny oil, dont dump it into gear at high revs, dont thrash it, and it should be fine.
