View Full Version : New Alarm
Hey Fellas... after my initial post about getting a keyless entry key for my jazz my only option is to get a non factory alarm because the model i got does not come with a factory alarm... only immoboliser... :(
so i am shopping around for an alarm that can also wind up the windows with the remote but doesnt have to have that function... i'd perfer the side mirrors close instead
i called strathfield and found the cyclops to be well priced $59 for the unit but install is $140
$260 for alarm + wind up for all 4 windows + $290 install = rip off~
could anyone recommend me anything better?

my advice when it comes to security dont be a cheap ass.
$400-$500 is reasonable especially with auto window wind up for 4 doors.
from memory i think it was like $100bucks per door when i asked.
what other features does the alarm have? black wiring, immobiliser, what sort of sensors does it come with?
usually just a standard alarm would be immobiliser with a shock sensor, but theres also the additional security such as microwave sensor, glass break sensor, ultrasonic sensor etc.
so rather then looking for cheapest possible, look for quality.
for me iv have mongoose alarms the m80g and atm i have the m20s, they are both great.
although the m20s is pretty basic, its loud lol plus it allows for additional security add-ons.
i gotta find out more about the alarm...
ideally black wiring is a must, shock and glass sensors would be good... but i am abit pulled back considering the install cost more than the actualy units

btw, if you got tinted windows glass break sensor isnt very effective as they can just break the glass and push it in while stuck to the tinting.
if u got the option get microwave sensor or ultra sonic sensor. or even a tilt sensor.
just a a CYCLOPS S35B installed today for $350 including central locking..
took about 2hrs to install... but over pretty happy with it :D
