Single bend = straight stick.
Double bend = stick with a zig-zag in the middle.

Oh haha Sorry I mean what is the difference when shifting etc?

Difference is the position of the knob above the shifter. That's it. I've gone from double to single bend, btw.

Oh ok I tried some research earlier and they said double is closer to driver? True? So what made you change from double to single? Thanks

Some place them closer to the driver. On the Euro, the stock double bend places the knob further away from the driver!

I went to single because the shifter assembly I wanted only came in single bend.

so if the stock civic shifter is single bend and you get a single bend shortshifter the knob stays in the same position? and a double bend one would fit aswell just change the position of the knob?

just curious, some people say using short shifter can damage the gearbox eventually.

Is this correct?

Only issues with short shifters is shift linkage misalignment, and premature synchro wear, as far as i know....

Also from mis shifting gears.

Isn't that caused by the driver with poor shifting habits like grabbing the knob tightly?

yeah B&M is good, just abit pricey

My double is based on the B&M shifter position

My single is the spoon short shifter. If they made a double, I would have gone for that as the knob is pretty close to the handbrake now when the handbrake is up and the gearbox is in reverse.

Thanks might be heading for some B&M Dual Bends. Still cheaper than skunk2 or BC ones. I believe.
