Ive seen plenty of cars with their stock rim painted black.. I'm low on cash at the moment so i don't i will be getting any rims soon. My civic is black.. and it currently uses the stock silver rim plates.. i want to remove the plate and paint the rim black.. however do u just use standard spray paint or is there anything special you have to use to paint it and also with the gloss/shiny effect.
Thanks.

there are a couple diy guides in the diy section.
but basically just clean, mask, primer, paint, clear coat with standard spray cans
Or you can powder coat them ;) I got some pics from EM1 Crew in the US here of their EM1 Rims Powder coated white.

Whats the process doing the power coat?
Powder coating is a dry finishing process, using finely ground particles of pigment and resin which are electrostaticlly charged and sprayed onto a part to be coated. The coating process can be done manually or automatically with a wide variety of equipment available. The parts to be coated are electrically grounded so that the charged powder particles projected at them adhere to the parts and are held there until melted and fused into a smooth coating in the curing oven. The result is a uniform, durable, high quality finish that is also environmentally friendly.
Basicly if the metal is bent is shouldnt chip as easy as simple sprayed on paint, aka more durability.
