Hi all,

Prior to posting this topic, I have searched older threads relating to my question.

In this thread: http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21154&highlight=tyre

there are conflicting views (well at least different views) from Euro owners about what the most appropriate/ideal psi should be for the tyres. In this thread it mentions the ideal psi for cold pressures - I didn't know what this means, could someone please explain this?

I have driven my Euro (which is four months old) but have not checked the tyres for its psi. The wheels are 16".

Would appreciate if I could get some clarification. If it helps, I drive my car 2-3 times a week but only drive about 200km per week on average.

Thanks!

It's not really a conflict of views, it's more towards the type of driving and the comfort levels each individual wants as well as the make of the tyre.

If you want, you can just follow the manufacturer's recommendation. The information will be on the placard next to the seatbelt on the driver's side door.

Thank you EuroAccord13 for the quick reply, that makes sense why there are differing views.

Guess one way I can find the optimal psi would be to try different views (within a safe psi zone) and see for myself.

What psi do you normally set your tyres with?

A good place to start would be to add an extra 4psi to what is recommended on the tyre placard and see how you go.

I run 36F/35R but I have different tyres... I add another 2-3PSI if I will be driving a long time on highways...
Best for you is to play around and drive with it and see which one suits you..

35 all round for me. Bit stiff, but I deal with it.

I have the 205/55 R16 tyres and use 36psi for both front and rear.

37-37 for me.

34 slows the car down too much, 40 is too hard imo

The type of tyre i've got(CSC2s) 38-40 psi suits them well as they have soft sidewalls.

34 psi for front and back ... seems to be reasonable.

Cold tire pressure means you pump in air when the tires are cold or still cool... not after a long drive and the tires is hot. I usually drive to the nearest station to pump the air in the morning or at night so the tires are "cold."

For the 16" Euro, currently I am using 35 for front and 34 for rear. Used to do 33 all round. More air, less rolling resistance, saves on fuel. The downside is more bumpy.

Too low.How are your tyres wearing?I'm running 38-40psi and they're wearing evenly after 36K.i suppose different tyre/profiles brands need different pressures.

I drive 2003 stock 16's, once ran on manufacture recommended pressure for constant high speed, the car was very responsive, but tyre wear was a issue, and edge treads was loosing fast.

now I pump my tyres up to manufacture recommended normal driving tyre pressure, and do it every week on a cold night with slow driving to the first petrol station when I go out, keep the tyres cold for accurate reading of tyre pressure. I remember it's 220 front, 215 rear. kpa.

33-32 is the stock recomended preasure.... after service at Honda, I usually will find the tires at those preasure.... 33 front, 32 rear.

44psi front and rear,

Only due to thin 19 inch tyres. 235/35/19

If i hit a pothole, i know i wont buckle the wheel.

If i was running my stock 16 inch tyres i'll go 36 psi all round.

Tyre wear even....no probs till now. On michelins PP2's great tyres !!! They have a very high/hard side wall

* Looking at comfort factor as car very low at the front.....

Ah OK.The Continentals that i'm running have a soft sidewall so i was told to have at least 4psi above what Honda recommend for the Euro.

Anything between 35-40 psi. I guess it also depends on what tyres you have.

36-38psi.

I think 38 is too bumpy and kind of jumping all over the place, but it lower the fuel consumption....

34-36 would be nice.
