And some more trivia....

It is one of the fastest (if not the fastest) operating roof on the market. 6 seconds to raise or lower.

Check out the Features page / Electric Soft Top link ;) :D

Electric soft top
Owners of the S2000 will soon become addicted to open-top driving; however, to cope with sudden changes in weather, the S2000 features one of the quickest operating soft-tops in the world.

This lightweight electric system raises the roof in approximately six seconds, hardly time for the rain to spot the water-resistant upholstery.

I read or heard somewhere that you also need to have the handbrake on to be able to operate the soft top, although I haven't been able to confirm if this is true or not. Does anyone know?

Yes, it's true.

The handbrake must be pulled up to use the roof.

the idea of having the handbrake on is so you cant be driving and try to shut the roof, for obvious reasons... (As the roof could be severly damaged if you were moving quiclky eg. get caught in the wind).

New porsche can be driven while operating the roof. It was i think up to 40km/h. Thats ultra conviniet incase of rain or if you see clouds of dust etc.

It was in the motoring section of paper. I think it was a boxter. Takes longer then 6 seconds though. But better feature to be able to use it while driving.

Rip the handbrake around a corner and close the roof that way ;)
