1. Please post your EG B18CR 1/4 mile times.

2. What would the below setup roughly run:

EG4 GLI with:
Jap B18CR w/ gearbox
ITR 4-1/5zigen/TODA/Mugen Headers, High flow cat, custom cat back
Custom/Injen Intake
ORC Clutch/Flywheel
Hondata
15x7 Equips on 192/50/R15 Toyo T1R's

No weight reduction.

What rough 1/4 mile times?

After the above is done, I then plan on 'tuning' it properly with Camber kit, traction bars, IM's, Cam's etc. But the above will be the main part of the build.

My project isn't for a stripped racer, just a clean street car running (I'm hoping, mid 13's) with decent stereo. I'll even have the front doors sound deaden with rear stripped (hence no weight reduction comment). Not a show car either. 'Bang for buck' all rounder I 'spose.

Thanks

don't see why not it won't hit 13's. We had a b18c7 with I/H/E ECU tune and manage 13.6 semi stripped EG i.e rear seats, spare tyre.

I'm thinking this will do around the 13'ish area... Mids?

Thanks. From the sounds of it, EG B18CR I/H/E/ECU high 13's on street tyres, semi stripped interior is possible?

Thanks mate. Any specific suspension setup? Please dont tell me what you ran exactly I want to do my own research. Was it just Coilovers and Sway bars? or did you have traction bars and camber setup?

exactly - if i can do flat 14's with almost full interior and no actual mods your ride can slip into the high 13's nps. Get out there and try it :)

Thanks ben. Yeah I was just checking that my thoughts are possible. I mean, if I asked same question but said high 12's -the answer would be a lot different (not possible without K20A!).

light weight (high 7xxkg) and drag slick helps alot..
but to achieve 12's with stock I/H/E/ECU, ermm...haven't seen one yet..and i doubt i'll see one...

Kris did 12.9 sec already last year
With his EG hatch stock b18cr motor ( custom intake , DTR open header , ecu) 22x8x15 slicks

Mid 13's shouldn't be hard with those mods.

flat 14 to high 13 should be very realistic on street tyres and decent lauch.

Mid to low 13's u will proabably need like semis and a good launch and some stripping

high 12's to low 13's will proababaly require Good slicks and very very good launch and alot of stripping

good temp, good track temp, good rubber on track, good shifting point and alot of luck will do you a high 12's...

actually with semi's thetime would be worst because semi's have a harder side wall and reduces the ballooning effects of a tyre...

i found fullslicks the best, followed by street slicks followed by normal road tyres.. and i would not even bother to use semis for the drag...

example a Toyo Proxies street tyre like RA1 is better than running RE55 or A048s on Drag...
semi slicks have usually have a lower profile and a harder side wall this prevent the tyres from gripping the strip... but is excellent for prevention of rolling or squashing of the tyre on the circuit...

Thread revival!

What is EGJOE and 90LAN running down the quarter? They have EGB18CR setups! Similar to mine (14.02 on first run with 2.3 60ft).

Thinking of heading back on Wed 20/8... be good to see more H cars!

The trick seems to be getting away... Some US website suggest slipping the clutch near 6K and elsewhere the 7+K clutch drop. Tyres make a big diff and on my only 2 runs the best I could do was 2.3X on Toyo Proxes 205/40/16's. Even a 2.2 flat would bring a 13.8X.

I run a Microtech... What are you guys using for ECU? What is your redline cut set at? I tried shortshifting a 8200rpm on my second run, which in hindsight worked better in the 1/2 change and not higher gears, where I will prob stick to taking it to 9100'ish.

How does the 20th sound to you blokes...

That's low for launch. Although on the road you can feel the tyres wanting to break traction even when dawdling in 1st and stomping it so it could work. Do you think this sort of launch would work with my recently acquired 205/50/15 M/T ET Street Radials? I would be scared it would bog!

90LAN

im running 4.4 lsd box and stock ecu too lol 5-6 k launch for me

willowbank has a real sticky track if u dont have hi revs u will bog down and lose your power band
so its hard to find the right sweet spot
does wheel spins a little

Once I get a decent 60ft start and run a number that I think is near potential, I'll pull up stocks until my setup changes... Not interested in d'shaft or clutch prob's...

Still need to see if I can run a 13 in my wife's rwd Stagea!

Yes, I remember chatting to you at W'bank one night. You seemed pretty frustrated with something... I saw you practising your take-ofs in the carpark when I was leaving. Traction issues, I'm guessing!

What tyres did you use for that time? (size/profile/make/etc)

What mods did the engine have? Got any parts left?

Was your t/b stock? Cams?

That's a great 60ft time!

What lump is going into the front of the EK?

can anyone give me rouph estimate of eg4 gli with b18cr, only weight reduction is spare tyre and back seats, good street tyres on 15's , toda/mugen headers with custom 2.5inch straight pipe from header back.. all managed and tuned with apexi power fc... this is my application ... what times will i see and be "BEST" for.. ohh and car will be just prob lowered wif spoon/king springs ... hoping with this setup to crak 13.5??!?!?
all comments appreciated..

high 13's... you need slicks or BF street drag radial for mid 13's...

There are a few b18cr with i/h/e with ecu that has hit 13.6 down the 1/4 mile. You need to make sure you get the right combo of parts.. branded parts are not always the best
Go back and check out some of the mods people have done with there b18cR

13.6 ... yea thats close enouph to my estimation at least.. wif slicks it will be proven better too.. good headers+exhaust.. good suspension setup.. good ecu and tune and im sure ill be capable too.... thanks dude

Is your engine type r or non type r?
Just wondering as I'd like to know what what times people are doing in egs with non type r b18c's?
Sorry if it is a bit off topic
