Hey i rang up for springs today and pedders told me that i would possibly need a anti camber bar for my car if i got it lowered, i just want to know if this is true, has anyone just lowered their accord with springs and not coil overs and had to put in a anti-camber bar, or is it just a stunt to get a extra $450 out of my ass!

Nope it's true.I've got Bilsteins with Eibach lowered springs,my drop is approx.35mm and i needed a rear camber kit but $450 seems a bit steep.I hope that's fitted.

I got coilovers, and got the camber and toe arms fitted not too long ago..
U can get away with it for the front, but you get a lot of negative camber in at the rear.

I dropped mine 40mm and was getting around -2.5 deg of camber at the rear...

For that price you could get the spoon camber kit as well...

Yeah, you def need a rear camber kit, the front you dont have to worry about.
450? bit steep, im thinking about 350 ish for ingalls off a trader from here.
got like -3.4 after i lowered it 2 inches.....pretty LOL.

What camber kits are any of you guys running??????

Is ingalls the way to go???

Ingalls is definitely the way to go, full adjustability on camber and toe...
I have them and I'm impressed with them. A majority of Euro owners with camber kits use Ingalls...

^^ lmao my bad... keyboard wasnt working prop...using alternatives :)

bt yer... well besides that fact.... if u choose not to get camber kit.. will it damage the suspension setup anyway?? if u drive it normally and not used in track etc...

It pulls to the right like FCK! I could take right hand curves without turning the wheel. Driving on the highway was hell because I had to keep pulling the wheel left so that I didn't crash over the middle island and onto oncoming traffic. I could take the M5 tunnel right hand curve without my hand on the wheel too!

Ingalls camber kit, $220 landed. Get it installed (easy, can DIY), and then get an alignment.

I got the spoon camber & toe arms back and front and got it all set up nice and sweet..
Handling really improved a lot...

why does it pull to the right? unequal camber?
i havent adjusted my camber from lowering with the tein SS yet, with some negative camber... and that doesn't pull to the right.

I had -3.5º camber on one rear corner and -2.5º on another (can't remember which was left and which was right). The rear toe was also out of spec.

I had around -2 on both sides. Handling was better with less understeer.

No difference in tyre wear. Don't believe everything you read about tyre wear with increase camber at the rear. If you go with 3cm and no more I would not fit a camber kit immediately. See how things go in the first few thousand kms and then decide.

I didn't end up fitting a camber kit at all.

Are most of you guys just running camber kit for the rear only??

Worth the front aswell???

if u don't lower ur car to a ridiculous height, u won't need one.

i'd say 99% of ppl here don't have one :p

Don't really need to get for the front unless if your really into the handling thing, like me.. hehe

Got both front and rear and now playing around with camber angles to try and get the best set up...

Just noticed most guys on here wif Euros lowered, have to have camber kits....Is this a Euro thing that the rear end gets extra camber? , because i that that if i lower my CB accord.... the camber isnt goner be crazy lyk -2+..

I know its recommended that if you lower your car you get camber kit, but for eg. does lowering a civic 2inch compared to euro 2inch lowered create similar camber? or are euro sort of more extreme?

EuroAccord13

The Euro comes stock with -1 camber on the rear tyres for handling.
Most new cars nowadays come with a certain degree of rear negative camber.

Negative rear camber = more straight line stability

EuroAccord13
16-04-2008, 02:35 PM
Negative camber also = handling, maximises contact during cornering where the cornering force on the tyre is attained at a negative camber level, but that being said, suspension travel and geommetry has to be taken into account as well..
Straight line stability plays secondary....

Dont quote me on this, but i think its a result of the multi link suspension.

When the car is lowered the suspension geometry changes and the top of the wheel is pulled in (or bottom pushed out), to try and keep the equilibrium in the suspension (hence negative camber).

The rear camber kit allows you to control the how far the top (or bottom) of the wheel is pulled in (or pushed out), hence controlling the camber.

Thats how i understand it anyway, correct me if im wrong.

But more negative camber on the rear and zero camber on the front = more grip on the rear than the front when cornering hard = understeer.

sortof, but its basicly the suspension following an arc at a set radius. the suspensions travel starts at 90deg which is parralel to ground, then progresses to 45deg which is full suspension compression, also resulting in alot of camber. its pretty simple lots of pic's on the net. check out wiki

cant belive people were complaining about 3deg! i had -8deg on the rear... now i have -1.5 :p

ingalls ftw

any alignment place will get them installed and aligned normally, but just need to call around. Peddars might or your general workshops.

Bob jane etc won't do it cause they refused to even align my car.

lower? no lower.... lowering of the car myself is free, but install was mates rates for tein monoflex coilovers.

camber was installed by my mate, included in a few things i got done,

Alignment depending where you go should be around $60-110

My ingalls camberkit was picked up for $250 or so late 2007 so was cheap.
