bendix produce good stopping, low dust, low noise and durable brake pads at good prices, they have a range that goes up depending how serious you want to get.go into an auto parts store and ask to see the bendix range,or check out their website maybe.
we use bendix at my workshop now, after going through bosch, ferodo and bursons pads, all of which had their downfalls.bendix proved to be the best medium quality, well priced pad you can get.....high quality is not suitable for street use so dont even go there

I have a 96 EK1 and I will be doing the brakes over soon:
1.Machine the rotors
2.New Pads
3.Stainless steel brake lines
4.Hi temp brake fluid

just get some rda slotted rotors and some ferodo ts2000's or something and flush with honda oem brake fluid
good pad/rotor combo without the jdm tax
edit; also remember to have good tyres too.. stopping a car isn't about how big your brakes are
would EK4 brake disc rotor fit on EK1? what is the size on EK4 and EK1 disc rotor?

would EK4 brake disc rotor fit on EK1? what is the size on EK4 and EK1 disc rotor?
yehh.. also interseted in the answer 2 this question..
could you jus take off the stock ek1 caliper n rotor n replace with the ek4 ones? or would it b more beneficial if you change of the whole hub?
*sorry if im hi-jacking ...
Hey a me too here.. feeling like my brakes aren't as stoppy as they used to be so I'm guessing they're due for some work. Street use 00 EK1, is it a good idea to drive in to a place and go with what they have there or should I source parts from elsewhere? Sorry if I'm hijacking too. Could do with a good part/place (Brisbane) recommendation. Thanks!

i replaced my pads with OEM at the start of the year. I was previously using some cheapy stuff from supercheap but they were crap. If all you want is the cheap n nasty stuff, buy it from supercheap etc. Otherwise, i would buy something decent. I went back to OEM because of the dust from the aftermarket aswell and it so much cleaner.
The OEM produce almost no dust whereas aftermarket would make my wheels dirty after a day or two. Also to responsiveness of the pad felt so much better. I feel more comfortable braking during shorter distances than i would with the aftermarkets, particularly after a bit of wear.

anyone know the rough cost on ebc green stuff i heard there good
> ferodo ts2000
"Formula Ferodo" is very similar and more available, I believe. Difference is the thermal backing plate.
Bendix Ultimates. dusty.
TRW/Lucas from Repco getting some gongs from some people.
All good value pads available from local parts houses (eg Repco). There are others, but probably not as common.
Dusting is a big concern for some people.
Higher spec pads are probably not necessary. They'll only wear out your disc sooner, but there's more than a few people who swear by Ferodo 2500.
OEM or aftermarket equivalent on rear.
The key to high brake performance is to bleed the air out the lines and the 'bedding in' process, follow manufacturers recommendations.

> i do most of street use fast run
All these pads are plenty, or should be, he, he.
> ebc green stuff
The old ebc greens had some issues. The formulae has supposedly changed, and is supposed to be better.
The big attraction is the kevlar brake composition doesn't leave a layer of dust all over the wheel and the inital bite is good.
Get them hot and the above semi-metal pads might be a little better.
> so what brake pad and disc would be suit?
Get a tape measure and measure the diameter of the rotor.
it's either 242mm (EK1 only) or 262mm (EK4 and late EK1).
> would EK4 brake disc rotor fit on EK1?
Hmmm.... I think the whole knuckle needs to be swapped. An ITR swap might be the same effort.
Good Luck.
PS. Forgot to add, on our lightly loaded rear brakes (FWD's) EBC greens on the rear only might be a way of tuning the brake bias rearwards, due to the higher friction coefficient compared to the other mentioned pads.

QFM are a good brand, made is AUS, so they are cheaper, got a whole range from basic to performance and they don't eat your rotors or dust alot. alot of the brake places around here use them.
as for part no's you are better off taking out your pads and matching them up with the listings either on the net (you can print them off at bendix) or take it in to a shop and they can use their manual. as i found out alot of the EK civics all had parts interchanged.
