Guys, changed my cars oil and oil filter today.
86 Integra (D16A3).

basically the user manual/car specs book (found in the glovebox)
Says the Oil capacity with filter is 3.5l.
But I/we drained about 2.9l and filled with about 3.15l
(drain included the oil in the filter)

Basically according to the oil guage/stick it is full.
So yeah, everything seems cool.

Just wondering if anyone has the same situation (oil capicity seems to be lower than the specs in the user man.)

havent heard of such a thing.

maybe some oil has "stayed" back as u know how oil takes time to completely drip off.

Did u flush ur engine oil b4 u dripped it??

to add to this...

NEVER over fill ur oil ! Since liquids (oil ) expands with engine heat- it can do internal damage...with ur head gasket , cylinder rings or etc can crack and rupture under the extreme pressure, causing untold damage !

wtf?

who told you that?!?!?

the reason you dont overfill your oil is because it gets hit by hte crank counterweights and this:

a) slows the crank down and
b) causes frothing...

Dxs - was your car flat level when you filled it up?

did you start it and run it for 5minutes before you checked the level?

the internals of the engine do contain sevel hundred millilitres of oil...

ok,
the car was on ramps when it was filled
i have run it and checked the levels and it seems ever so slightly to be above the max level (nothing to really worry about, my car normally runs cool/cold anyway)
it runs fine though, i should check it again seeming though i have driven it for about 20 mins
