Hey All

Is this a real Integra Type R?

I thought they should have a red valve cover

and at $13,000 plus parts to fix, would it be a bargain?

Thanks

Chris

Its an aussie type r. Looks like it'll need a bit of work tho! Good for a build up, but too much work for the average person I reckon.

Also looks like theres a reserve aswell.!

Love how it says 'No airbags'.........dont bother to mention that theres no steering wheel either :P

red valve covers came on jdm type R's

if you want to fix it and drive it yourself then it would be cheaper than a dc5 on the market however if you wanted to fix then try and sell it, it might be harder because it may be listed on REVS

Id imagine its a repairable write off

would be a good project race car i reckon

its already semi stripped =p

but yea if its a car that u wont be keeping for long and selling it. then you would probably lose out alot of money.. might also be worth lookin if its on REVS and the condition of the chassis and engine

Its done 130,000km's... I guess stolen?

If it was going for like 8 grand, I'd buy it, restore it and selling for 28 grand :)

i was thinking of fixing for myself, wont be perfect, but its cheaper than me buying one for $25,000 plus or whatever they go for. Later on I would respray anyway to White or Yellow. I was just sus about the valve cover

What's wrong with it... make sure you get the chassis looked at, and get a compression test done on the engine. It will give you a good idea if it's in good nick etc. Weigh up the costs before you buy this one. Could just be better and cheaper to buy a registered working one.

Just a headsup, my friend is selling his Silver DC5R in Sydney soon. Just waiting on his Audi A4.

Hey Again, this car has been re-listed, can anyone tell me if this really would be a Type R, it has badges and door sill plaques, as well as one on the console, but apart from the valve cover not being red, I am interested in getting this as a project car, but dont want to be throwing money away. I have emailed the seller for VIN and engine numbers, do the AU Type R's have a certain kind of code or plaque in the engine bay that tells me its genuine AU Type R? Thanks, Chris

Engine number would be a good start.

To me it seems quite genuine. But don't take my word for it. Get the engine numbers and VIN and get it checked out properly.

get chassis no.

Chassis number will just say DC5, regardless if it's a type R?

ie: DC2 Type R's don't say DC2R, they just say DC2, like the vti-R's.

I suspect he just bought it from auction becasue it got stolen and the valuable parts taken out.

So to get new/2nd hand seats, budget 3K, airbags and all that $800, other surrounding fitting, $500, not to mention ownership changeover tax, + other things. external labour = 1K.. and other things that may come up.

btw, wheres the wing gone?

I was thinking if it doesnt sell this time, (plus i am going to have a look at it on sunday) i will offer $10,000 , surely plus the bits to fix it will be a bargain compared to $26,000 for the others that are for sale, i was thinking of modding a bit down the track so it doesnt bother me as much with some bits missing
but thanks for the helpful advice guys, cheers, Chris

umm... its does say it has 135k km on it... you'd be able to find a normal running one for low 20's.

Hey again, I have done a bit more research,(car is still for sale http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=250242262215&Category=35227&_trksid=p3907.m29 .)
yes car was stolen for parts, but does have original engine and gearbox, yes it will need some work, but can someone tell me what i really need to check on this car (apart from revs etc) ? is there anything that is a dead giveaway as to not being true Type R, or things that will give a lot of trouble? if there is a Type R expert who could come look at the car with me, I would be happy to pay you for your time, I am looking at starting a new job, and want a newer car, I dont care if it takes a year to get the car sorted after getting it back on the road, at some point i want to respray it Championship White, and usual suspension upgrades etc, I have time, but not as much money as most of the people on this forum.
Yes, the car has high K's, and will be some work, could be fun for me though, any further thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks, Chris

Hey All,
urgently need advice and help still on this car
I have the VIN, and original rego number, but could not see the engine number clearly, the car is a stolen/recovered repairable writeoff..

if someone could look at what I have in this picture of the engine number and advise me whats missing so i can do a revs check?

it looks to me like Z030076 but theres something in front i cant make out

Does anyone remember seeing a Silver DC5 Type R with numberplate OILMAN ???

Thanks

Chris

That car has 130K on it, for 13 grand it's not worth the effort required to put it back to it's original condition, you would end up spending way more than the 25K people are asking for ones in good condition.

If your trying to save a buck or two this isn't the way to do it
