Actually.. because you posted the honda.com.au info.. .then it is no longer the case " accords and preludes use same engine"

Because down here in Aust.. all accord variants only came with SOHC engine, where only the lowest prelude range came with the SOHC engine.. which in this case i belief it is a F22A series...

The rest of the prelude engines are H23. or the highest spec one (Prelude Vti-r) running an H22A...

Most Accords after 1993 came equipped with F22B( i think?) a VTEC variant of the F22A for fuel economy...

EDIT:Another thing....

Only in Japan did the H22A get put in Accord's (SiR) and Prelude's as stock engines

not sure on what model accord your refering to?
but the CD5 isn't a h22 or a h23, its a f22b.

hmm i dnt kno i was under the impression that the accords had h23 and h22 engines
and yea, the f22 is the engine for the 'S' model, its non v-tec and has 96kw or sumfin

F22B1 guys.... is the VTi/VTi-S CD5 engine

F22B is the DOHC non VTEC prelude engine
H22A is the DOHC VTEC prelude engine

?, F22A there is no F22A

in japan they released the CD5 Accord SiR which is/was equiped with the H22A

I think we are all a little confused here...

Accords
CB7: F22a1 (SOHC non-VTEC)
CD5 EXi: F22b2 (SOHC non-VTEC)
CD5 VTi/s: F22b1 (SOHC VTEC)
SiR (released only in Japan): H22a (DOHC VTEC)

Preludes
S: F22a1 (SOHC non-VTEC)
Si: H23a1 (DOHC non-VTEC)
VTi-R: H22a1 (DOHC VTEC)

Hope that clears things up :)
