Jazz 2009? When is it coming to Australia?

Hi guys,

I was at Honda North on the weekend looking at buying a Honda Jazz VTi-S Auto for my fiance. Currently I have a 07 Jazz GLi Manual (company car)

I've seen people complain about the CVT. Is the problem still present in the 08 model?

She really wants it in white but they have none left.


Do you think this is because the 09 will be available soon? If so how long until it does arrive in Australia.

I've done some more reading, it seems the CVT problem generally happens after 20,000km and an transmission oil change will solve it.

So, does anybody know if the 2009 model is available in Australia?

it's not 2009 model mate. it's release this year in some other country;)

The cvt is quite good i should say. Prior to the latest face lift, all jazz models were filled with ATF. The problem for my cvt came only around 60,000kms. I have since brought it in for service and flushed once with the cvt fluid and subsequently refilled with it again. So far it is running great, and the problem, fixed... hope this helps.

The current Wheels magazine says July but the Euro is supposed to be due in July (even though Wheels don't mention when that is due). Jazz is due in September according to info I have. Wheels is wrong.

they're running out of the old model so i hear dealers are trying to get them available for sale earlier than expected. i should have asked one of the honda aust guys at dinner last night (-_-)

and yeah do a group deal, you won't get a huge discount being a brand new model but at least try and get from free mats or extended warranty or something along those lines

i'd certainly get some mats even if you have to pay for em as the carpet quality isn't what it used to be

My friend bought one in China already...There are so many reviews so far..

Basically, there is not much improvement over GD3 to be honest...But just some new fresh feeling about GE series.

JDM spec moon sunroof is just amazing! Dont know if aussie spec will have that.

It should be cheaper because of the strength of the Oz dollar. The new Euro dropped $1,000 for the new model.

There's no moonroof on it - wouldn't that be something they'd show off if it was in the line-up?

Something there about a "collection" of alloy wheels with "many patterns and colours to choose from".

I drove it last week, good car. they are saying realease will be september, but they are trying to get it pushed forward as the demand for them is pretty high and almost all dealers are running out (adelaide is basically empty cept for 2 lol) there will now be a safety pack u can buy if ur interested in the smaller 1.3l gli (which they said they were removing, and now they arent) which gives u the full airbags and info on dash display. No prices were given which was a bit of a bugger, but very very sharp, vti-s model is the way to go for sure, sharper body design and cruise+audio on steering wheel. (other two models no cruise, GG honda)


p.s. www.honda.com.au now has jazz website up (though having cars looking like people still creeps me out) its designed to look like vogue magazine, cuz apparently they are the creme de creme of fashion, and jazz is the creme of the small cars was the uh...justification. its only a teaser for now but it might tide you over lol.

no, no dealers anywhere have any stock, they just brought some in as a test day, stock wont be available for a while yet

yes! one of the things they made sure of wasd dead pedal (u would be surprised how many people wouldnt buy it cuz of that) and the arm rest is only in the vti-s model i believe

most likely, though they told us only about a month ago they werent, so it woulda taken them longer then that to completely figure out wat they were doing, so obviously a bit of mix up somewhere along the way. The interior is much nicer tho, more modern and better set up visually for sure. gli and vit have blue/black interrior and the vti-s has full black interrior. vti-s has a differnt body shape and front grill making it alot sportier and apearing wider. also has a more noticable tail exaust then the other ones (which are almost hard to see on road)

nay, no moonroof sorry. though they beefed up visibility in the mirrors (they are massive) and fixed the prob with rear mirror visibility with the head rests (they are now flush to the seats and can be pulled up increasing visibility heaps, and the front window is bigger aswell as triangular windows on the front pillers near the side mirrors.

that had nothign to do with moonroofs, just made me think of visibility lol.

it also now has an AUX jack ! yes! go ipod lovers lol

as i know from oversea version, new model doesn't use CVT anymore and vtis will have durm brake front and rear.

Trip computer in vti and vtis, and cruise standard on vti-s. U get the trip cpu if u option the pack on the gli. i think the vtis has an arm rest too! makes a massive difference

I like the idea of getting Disc brakes all around now..should improve brake pedal feel dramatically.

No CVT is not what I was hoping for! I love the current CVT. Never caught without the right ratio. Helps me keep up with V6's and the like on the highway!

Ahh well, I hope the 5spd auto is smooth and doesnt expose the lack of power too much. I am very used to having 81KW with the CVT. It can really move when provoked.

I went to honda japan website, and the fit RS redline was at 6500-6750rpm... but also read in honda thailand website that this car weighs 1115kgs without fuel and any liquid :zip:means its getting heavier and heavier...?

Can the steering wheel audio controls be used to control an iPod?

um, 4 speaker sound, and the aux is a 3.5 mm audio into the dash directly. I doubt the steering wheel could fully control the ipod but im sure it can change between songs etc
