View Full Version : Custom Piping or Catback System
Hey I was thinking what I should do... how good are custom made mandrel piping could they compare to say an Apexi N1 Catback to say if I bought the Apexi N1 Universal Muffler and did custom mandrel bent piping for my EM1?

Custom has its advantages because you can let them know how loud/quiet you want it - and if you go to a reputable place the welds and bends can be pretty damn good.
Oh ok... loudness is proportional to the size of piping? I guess Usually 60mm is good aye..

sure the diameter of the piping affects noise, but its more affected by the number and style of mufflers and the size/shape of the resonator (if the system uses one)

ditto, hakan does awesome work
Yup thanks guys how much would mandrel bent cost for EM1 be for catback? and so it would not be inferior to a premade catback would it?
depends what material you want it made out off, i got mine done for $470, and the weld and bends on them are pretty damn good.

custom will give you the same gains, just get it as straight and free flowing as possible, the catback isnt as influential on power and where the power is made as the header is.
and imo just go mandrel bent mild steel, unless you want to look up the girls skirts that your trying to get with when you tell them to look under the car to see your fully sickkkkk $2000 titanium exhaust
Lol thanks.. well what range is there.. mild steel, stainless steel, titanium? Hmm the $470 system what material was it done with? Thanks!

the $470 was most likely done with stainless steel, unless he has some exhaust shop friends.thats about the price you are looking at for a quality mandrel bent mild steel cat back
that $470 was a mild steel, but i kid u not, the welds and bends are perfect as.
