I've got a 3" magnaflow muffler on my dc2 and I hate the damned thing. It's not so much loud, it just drones. The only time it sounds good is when I take my car past 6000rpm...
Got any suggestions if I want a quiet muffler that still sounds good when I'm driving hard? What would a second hand stock one cost, and would I lose power?

i personally thing honda's are more about induction sound than exhaust noise
get a cai or just a pod and hear the engine sing :)
and to answer your other questions, you can try getting a dc2r muffler if you can, should be bolt on if you still have a stock b-pipe i think
price wise i'm not too sure, and with power i don't think you'll lose enough to feel it

What size muffler is it?
Are you running a centre muffler. If not, get a good quality 7 inch offset and this would take away alot of the drone but still retain a good sound!

agreed you could try running a midmuffler or getting a hot dog, but if budget is in the way i would just look at getting an ITR muffler or even a vtir one. The ITR one naturally is better.
If you have the spare ball have a look at the twin loop style mufflers.
you probably won't lose much power as you don't have that many other mods apart from your exhaust.

How much do you think a twinloop style thing is? I've never heard of them...can you tell me more? Also, what would a good condition ITR muffler set me back? Thanks for all the useful replies ;)

twinloop yo (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45609)
i wouldn't pay more than $80 for a good condition itr axel back(muffler + tubing to bolt on to b-pipe)

Wouldn't a twin loop make more back pressure or something and slow the engine down? Hahaha...you guys are gonna kill me...

the twin loop flows OK, like i said you wont notice a BIG difference by your BUTT dyno.
twin loop $190 or so + 50-100 for fitting.
a type r one is $100-$150 and should bolt on.

Anyone out there know where I could find a second hand ITR muffler? In good condition, but still a reasonable price. You might just have a buyer...
As for BUNGSAI...your work never fails to impress me.

Sounds like you want what I have, A Spoon Street axle back muffler, mines bolted onto the stock b pipe and is just perfect. Expect $400+ second hand or $900 new. Got mine from JDMyard ages ago.

Telling me. You know what? Maybe I'll just get some 1" copper pipe from my work, steal some solder, and knock up my own pencil sized noise limiting exhaust...
