I got mine sent from Singapore. They're everywhere on eBay, and wouldn't be surprised if they start popping up randomly in some car shops.

Remember the replica ones don't have the 'pin' to hold it in and thus uses 3M tape only- which does need to be replaced every now and then. There is also going to be a gap between the visor and the window which isn't perfect as a result compared to genuine.

I'm quite happy with my replica ones for approx $60 (can't remember), but if I had to choose again, I would go genuine since I know genuine ones are only approx $250+aud if you buy yourself in Asia.

^ old pics (mine is black civic)

.... and I think the JDMC prices are pretty much fixed but nothing stops you from trying.

To be honest mate, you sound kinda noob and as a piece of advice, when you are buying these things, it's very much a lucky hit-or-miss affair. Even the one supplier, can sometimes supply great quality stuff, and other times they can supply shit- EVEN for the same product (e.g. Jo_E and my grilles haha).

JaCe, I believe the replica mugen is using 3M? how does it helps under the heavy rain? Coz I was still thinking should I get OEM one or the Mugen Replica (cost relatively the same).

Also, isnt this thread supposed to be on "Where to Buy" section? :p

I've got the replica from Singapore, its been pissing rain here in Sydney and not a problem with the 3M tape, got it for Sin$50.00 and its perfect fit,no issue whatsoever.

It wears out over time. Doesn't just have to be rain but in general, remember there is a gap between the visor and the door, and over time, wind, rain, and other crap can get between the two and weaken the adhesive. Sure it's an easy matter of just pulling off the old one and reapplying new 3M double sided tape; but it is rather disconcerting when it just 'comes off' whilst driving on the freeway at 100km/h!

Well ,mine are almost 2yrs now and I've been driving on the M5 quite frequently at an average speed of 100-120kmp and thru car washing place where they use high pressure water gun,so far so good,no sign of damage or the adhesive coming off.

Consider yourself very lucky then. I've had to replace all the tape on mine for all the visors to make sure they are sturdy.

ps. How does 2 years work on a 2007 Civic? Even if you bought Dec 06, it's still, at most, 1.5years.

Got 2 Civic : 06-2006 VTi and 02-2007 VTi-L. Both visors still intact not a single problem. Maybe yours is not a good quality made visor.

If mine ever fall off and get damaged I'd definitely go genuine this time since it's quite concerning to see them rattle at high speeds.

Mine arnt genuin visors and i am having no trouble with them what so ever.
They are good buy it makes the car look wider and it shades from the sun in the areas that are hard to cover.

You can even open your window a tad when it rains for fresh air

Haha for me the only concern is that it makes the already thick A-pillar even thicker when it comes to seeing oncoming traffic at roundabouts.

On black Civic, it looks good though. Gives it a bit more 'width' IMO.

lol it wasnt because jace had a bad quality made visor its just cos it so happen to rain right after he put it on..therefore making the adhesive weak.

Normally the 3M double side tape can hold really strong, once u stick it on, then its hard to take off again. Why someone said it will fall off easily at high speed or need to change tape after 1 year, because they havn't clean the window surround well (with light thinner) before they stick the visor on, so the 3M tape will not hold strong.

If I could go back in time I would've gone original though with the pins and all. The tape still looks kinda "thick". That being said, after putting on new tape and leaving it to hold and so on (even though it rained) it seems pretty solid. Well it's holding up better than the rubber bits which seem to always need silicon spray.
