Hey people down under lol

I have a AEBS intake manifold for my ITR, i have had it on my car with a 66mm TB but took it out because i didn´t really notice any difference and now i´m thinking on selling it. What do you guys think i should do, sell these or try to modify them a bit more to see if i can get a bit more power out of them, or should i invest in one of these babies:

OBX ITB
http://www.obxracingsports.com/products.php?pk=1456#

or are they both crap and forget both. what should i do?

Thanks guys:)

pretty cheap compared to Toda etc probably best trying to find someone on here with these already and that have tried and tested it.

also keep in consideration, u will definitely need a ecu to run these, possibly even a 2nd one if u have one already(1 computer to run the ITB's on their own) - correct me if i am wrong.

lol nar, you won't need no 2nd computer. but you will need a full programmable one.

item is very cheap, guys posting the same stuff in the US. yet no one has been successful in buying one, so until someone does, it's just a guessing game on how well they are constructed.

I will hopefully be getting a set of these in the next few weeks so we will see what they are like first hand.

let us know rooster

it seems toda and obx use OEM toyota bodies off 4AG's.. and just create the adapters and other misc parts to bolt onto a honda..

Definately worth it, the basis that it allows more air and fuel into the engine coupled with vtec is one of the best all motor combinations you can do, especially if tuned right you can get some great power and torque gains. And the sound it makes it better then any induction kit by far ... only bad thing you fuel gauge will always be on E

Dun know what the situation is in Portugal atm with regard to performance shops dude (been a while since I've gone back to see family) but if you have no one to tune this thing then its going to be pointless to go more than just bolt ons. Where abouts are you located?

Some dude in Japan bought them and changed all bolts and linkages. No idea why tho but he just did.

They look like the are constructed around the toda quads, look very similar.

lets see some results!!

These have been out for months and if you read the hondatech post it goes through why the guy changed all the fasteners in the set he got as they are rubbish and he near stripped all the heads off getting them out.

Biggest part is if the actual throttles are made by obx or they are toyota items, if there obx ( which i believe they are as they are bigger then the toyota items apparently ) i would not touch them given the troubles that could be had, all good and well they are smooth and dont stick on a bench all greased up, but when operational and hot given what material ( or should i say quality of material ) has been used, if the bolts shit on first removal its not a good sign but the rest being the base manifold, stacks and trumpets ect, are pretty hard to screw up or to have them fail, under boost might be questionable though.

Apparently they are also bringing out an airbox to suit and a forced induction airbox which should be interesting to see.

Think ill stick to the saying you get what you pay for here, as obx stuff is rubbish in general and apparently there warrenty ( not what they claim but what they do ) is pretty pathetic so guess check that out before handing over your cash.

Should someone grab a set and the throttles are rubbish, ill sell you my spare toyota ones  but i dare say by keeping an eye on hondatech, you'll soon see the stories that come of these be they good or bad but in saying that, drag racers comments compared to street or track guys should be taken abit differently seeing they only open the suckers a few times per run, not 100's of times for extended periods. ;)

I cant imagine these ending up on many decent cars with serious people paying the extra for Toda, Jenvey, twm ect.

Though I dont know anything about the OBX quads atm, the PFC would be fine using them as long as u can tune it via TPS based tuning.

Actually, the PFC would be a rather poor choice of ECU in this instance.

What ecu would you recommend for this setup?

Motec , Hondata , Neptune & Autronic also can do the job .

But not sure about HKS FCOn V Pro......

someone can tell ?

Thats what i´m afraid of aswell, don´t know if these tuner shops have the experience to tune itb´s. I live in the Algarve. I know in Lisbon are some very good tuners but don´t know if they can tune itb´s.

Ah cool most of my family is in Algarve also.... Faro to be precise.

Have a ring around and see what you can find tuner wise, my guess is that it is going to be a pain trying to find someone over there.

In all honesty I would look elsewhere for performance, given you have just a basic I/H/E at present. If you insist on having ITBs.. I would probably buy something alot more reputable to start with. Simply because if there is little experience around... the last thing you want is for the hardware to be another source of headaches.

Reccommend hondata S300. Our quads are tuned on Hondata S200.

S300 and chrome have the features to actualy tune ITBs properly. I will be swapping my s200 for a 300 when my ITBs go on.

I really really really really really hate chinese/taiwanese copys, but i ran an OBX LSD and it was fantastic, half the price of a quaife and performed just as well.. So not all OBX is crap, the majority is though.... (food for thought)
