Respraying my EG

Hey all

My EG is fading pretty bad. The roof is basically pink, and the front fenders and front bar don't really match. The color is Honda FE01 (?) Red.

I just wanna know with respraying what options do I have and how much money am I looking at?

I also have front and rear lip and EK Sides I'd like sprayed and installed at the same time.

Option 1: Respray full car - brand new color including painting Engine bay.
Option 2: Full respray keeping the same color
Option 3: Closed door, cover windows respray?

Can anyone say how much the above 3 should cost roughly? Is a 'closed door ' respray a lot cheaper?

I'm not interested in doing it yet, in a few months. So please don't PM me yet with any recommended workshops, just doing some background research.

It's definitely getting B series swap - will I save any money by having my workshop pull the engine out, then respray it, then new B Series back in? I'm trying trying to organize my timeline so I can save a bit of money. (for example it would be silly for me to install new engine, then painters to pull it back out again just to spray engine bay)

u can pay anything from 3k - to even 6k for a full respray just depends on where you go to.. if ur just doing the outside again should be looking at the 2k mark

and yes u will save money in the long run if u respray your car when u swap it saves them having to pull out the motor again ;]

Wow man, i tell ya, a good job probably starts at 6k!!

Just think the further from what it is you go, the more qork it will take, therefore the more time, therefore the more muuulaa$$

I would say, as a VERY rough guide

Touch up/respray in same color: $1500+
New color over factory job, no engine bay etc: $3k plus
Bare metal respray: $5-6k up depending ojn quality!!

Just remember ESPECIALLY with a respray, you WILL get whnat you pay for and in most cases, no more!!

I'll do it for half that, but it'll be newspaper, masking tape and pressure pack ;)

Would that be decent and bring "Honda Pink" back into at very OEM decent quality paint?

I have a red EG with the paint fading to pinkish red unless I polish very regularly. When I do respray the whole car, I'll get the painter to paint a clear coat over the red ( ie Clear over base ), that way the red stays red in the long run.
