are you using stock headers with heatshield?

wtf
no
most likely an exhaust issue.unless you really are getting that vti up to 8k rpm, then the noises would be the engine making yuk sounds in protest of you pushing it past what it is capable of.dont do that

my exhaust rattles at idle :) scraped it too many times i think.
i can't get my vti past 7200, not that i have tried, but like the guys abouve said check your sheild and any other brackets that might have come loose over the years

checked the heatshield and the bolts, and there was no sign of looseness of bolts or anything.. doubt its the exhaust..

I shouldnt take it up so high in rpm..

its not good for the engine. What you heard , is "pinking/pinging" ( pre-detonation from under too much load). Probably due to leaning out up top...old sparkplugs or bad timing or bad fuel or carbon buildup...treat your car nicely please.
