no one would give you their engine number. Its silly. And wont work.

You need the EXACT engine number from the car chassis + rego to work on REVS check

- ENGINE NUMBER

are engine numbers on some models similiar because ive got his rego slip here and ive pressed in the right numbers and this still pops up? what does this mean besides the obvious? do i have to go to the rta to check it up further or does this commonly happen?

are you sure you typed in all the correct details

Chassis aka VIN number
Rego number
Engine number

try again.

If not then that mean that engine doesn't belong in that car and its not registered properly

its jsut the engine number that isnt the right number, im pretty sure that ive put in the right numbers for VIN and rego? probably means that i have to go rta to check out tomorrow?

if the engines been swapped, then it wont match up with the chassis number, if you just try the chassis number and a fake engine number, it should give pretty accurate REVS check if it was a write off or not..

the thing is the guy has brought the car since new 8 years ago and there has been nothing done to it at all in terms of engine swaps and what not, his got the original log book and its been serviced at the same place since. i called the place today to check and there records and its true, nothing has been done to it. stock as, my mechanic has done a thorough check and doesnt think there was a engine swap? just the numbers dont match up? anyways ill see tomorrow morning

thats my old car, i jsut purchased another civic coupe but an black em1, 2000. jsut to clarify i went to the rta today. the engine numbers on all rego slips have ur engine ID say mine is b16a2-XXXXXXX etc however on some rego slips there is a dash between the number 2 and the following number? that dash is entered into the computer systems of the rta that rev use to check for money owing? rev dont register that dash that is why there is a mismatch in identifiers, i went to the rta and had them remove the dash which now shows on revs that the car is spick and nothing is mismatched! all this over a dasH, some1 should pay...
