It is fine. use it. I'd rather use cheap nasty 10w-40 oil rather than run low.

agreed with above, better off being at a good level than low
just dont thrash your car until you can get some good oil
the only good oil for honda's is Honda FEO 10w30 =)

i think ive run into a bit of a problem....after i put it in my dad came home and said it was a synthetic based oil....10w-40......is this going to effect my engine in anyway...and quick response will be greatly appreciated as i have to go out in like half hour and i dont want to mess up my engine

ju8st change the oil as soon as you can and dont 'thrash' your car while the bad oil is in there
go to a honda dealer and buy some FEO =D

ur car is not gonna all of a sudden die if u use this oil for 2 weeks 1 month or whtaever.
As long as u keep ur levels up, drive in orderly manner when cold nothing will go wrong.
Only way u can go wrong is if you start putting olive oil in you car.
All good man stop worrying so much.

No, nothing bad will happen. I can tell you though that your dad is wrong. Castrol Magnatec 10w-40 is MINERAL. It has some synthetic additives, but that is a very small amount. The base stock is still mineral. There is also a Castrol Magnatec FMX 10w-30, that is a semi-synthetic base stock.

It means that the viscosity rating is tested according to SAE standards and is comparable to other oils which also use the same SAE method. http://www.sae.org/
