What happens if you havnt paid your fines by the due date?

Im wondering what would happen.

Has anyone ever gotten a speeding fine, or a red light camera fine??? etc and didnt pay by the due date???

It says on these papers that it can result in additional penalty..
BUT wat exactly does that mean?? heavier fine? imprisonment? jail? etc etc

Anyone with experience plz tell me what happend in your cases.

additional penalty usually means heavier fine and/or suspension of licence

mine incurred an extra $50 on the 3rd warning... a long time ago.. in a galaxy far far away :D

^ Yup, $50 or there abouts then they suspend your licence. Its wirth just paying it!

If you cant pay it, give them a call and they'll organise part payment/extension etc.....its not that hard!

but its already a week over due..
Im just thinking what if they already sent out a reminder letter to me and im yet to receive the 2nd fine letter dis week or next week. Which means that if i paid tomorow or sumfing.. id still get a 2nd fine letter and den dat would make things more complicated...

AND just want to make something clear coz im a bit confused.
YOU get 3 reminders b4 u get licence suspension ?
so like dis ?? :-
1. Fine letter issued by COP after pulling u over.
2. 1st fine letter to remind u to pay
3. 2nd fine letter to remind u to pay
4. 3rd fine letter + $50 extra to remind u to pay.
5. Licence suspension.

So if u paid the fine with da extra 50 bux on ur 3rd notice.. u still keep your licence right??? u only get suspended if u didnt pay that final warning?

Hurry up and call them before you recieve the letter, that way there's a better chance of avoiding it.

i've delt with this many times give em a call and it will be all good just tell em its been hard to pay due to your tight budget and they will have no prob but you have to telll em a date you will pay by and if you dont pay by that date they will raise it and you will pay more

P.S. NOT MY FINES THEY HAVE BEEN FOR CAR FLEET AT WORK

the letter they sent to you should have a payment options as you can pay once off or by repayment. i had mine last time, and i pay it off in 3 separate months.

just call as everyone said....they normally give u an extra months extenion thats what i got anyway .....i do it even wen i can afford it lol...just for the sake of it they give me a bullcrap tickets they can wait for my money

If you leave it too long the refuse to renew your license or car/s

you will receive a reminder notice 3 weeks after the due date if payment hasnt been made.

on the reminder, you then have another 3 weeks to pay the fine.. if you dont pay the reminder, your fine will be increased.. and handed to the state dep. of recovery.
