the crank pulley bolt on my mate's EG snapped the other day.. I had a quick look and it seems that half the bolt is still in the crankshaft itself.

Also, the groove where the pulley sits is now gone smooth and the key slot is stripped.. so new crank I reckon, and even new pulley.

Anyone knows around how much is the job normally cost? I think there's quite a bit of work involved.. jack the car up, drain the sump, inspect timing belt, replace crank and pulley, adjust belts tension, maybe new belts, etc.. etc..

So, is it still worth the repair? or is it due for rebuild anyway? engine has done 240,000 kms..

probably not worth the labour when you can pick up one of those engines for under 500 bucks...

With 240,000km on the clock,I would recommend swapping the engine.
Unless you can do all the work, the labour will be high.

as above not worth fixing. the crank will have to be replaced. price wise a 2nd hand motor will be alot cheaper.

Try honbits if your desperate. They are abit more expensive but they generally have it.
