hey a very noob question.. just i cbf searching for the answer on the forums cos i know theres so much on here spent 2 hours already on the search button -__-

atm got a 97 integra vti-r with these mods

?buddyclub short shift
?Fujitsubo Powergetter cat-back
?5-Zigen headers
?Magnaflow high-flow cat
?Apexi intake
?Exedy heavy duty clutch
?Spoon lightened flywheel
?Summit lightened crank shaft pulley
?Cusco strut bar
?Coilovers

Wanting to change engine to B18C7 1.8L DOHC VTEC ( the dc2 type-r engine)
- wondering how much all up for parts + labour ?
- and do i have to change any of current mods to suit the new engine?
- and how much power would it put out?
- where to go about to do it? (i live in melbourne)
- and any negatives or ideas on this?

don't know if u'd want to put a b18 into a prelude, you're h22 would be making more torque to accomodate for the heavyness of the car already, i can't see a lower displacement engine making the car any faster. Have you thought about maybe forced induction or even a v6 engine swap?

It's still gonna be slower than a typeR because you're heavier..
Do you just want more kw?Why not go 2.0L or turbo?

B20.You can use the 2.0l block with vtec head... B20 is from the honda crv.
Do some more reading on here mate, plenty on info.

K20 swap more $$ than the whole car.May as well buy an evo then.

no point upgrading the engine for slight power gains when its going to cost alot of $$ to source the parts and labour to do it.

by 2.0L, you could either use a b20 block or stroke out your 1.8L to a 2.0L. but ive heard you can go as far as a 2.2L :). this will give you heaps of power/torque and the engine will still be stamped as a b18.

workshop wise theres a few in the south east, personally i goto revzone in ringwood.

also next time do your search, cos if you keep asking the same questions that have been covered over and over again, nobody will aswer cos we all cbf

How about providing them some links.
Or somewhat helpful information to lead them on the right track.

everything listed is either not connected to the engine or universal so will work on whatever engine you put in, not sure about crank pulley tho. also not 100% sure on the clutch, flywheel if you decide to change your gearbox.

why dont you just get the b18c7 head, internals and ECU. it'll save u heaps and be very similar to the b18c7
