hey,
ive got an accord vti-s done about 200.00 k's. Not sure if this is usual or not but when shifting (espiecally 1st to 2nd) gear box seems to slip a bit even at low rpm's. Is this normal in this car?
Also when i got it serviced a couple of months ago my mechanic was puzzled to find tiny metal filings in the transmission. Anybody got any ideas?

haha serious? cause i test drove a few before buying and they all seemed to hav the same issue. its like a slight shudder everytime it shifts. An RACV check noted it as a 'harsh' upshifting

mmm dont think that'd be it, i did it bout 3,000 k ago. Must just be on the way out... reckon it'd be worth doing a manuel conversion? what price would i be lookng at?

yea but you mentioned slipping not shudder most or thump

my CD5 thumps sumtimes depends what revs its shifting at, and usually its when
its holding a certain amount of revs for a second before shifting

the tranny mount gets worn out, must be cause of the huge ratio 2nd gear has

it can shift from 1st into second at 20km/h then u can use 2nd all the way to
100km/h and because of the huge drop in revs from first to second the mount
gets a hiding

yeh fair enough. Im just asking cause im thinking bout putting a bit of money into the car but dont really want to if im going to hav to spend 3 k replacing the tranny in like 6 months.

metal filing mean's tranny parts worn.

if its flaring during gear changes there is a good change the cluth packs are worn or the throttle cable ( tranny ) isnt adjusted right.

i would try it with the aircon off, my accord (manual f22b) does not like coming from 1st to second with aircon on...
