hey fellas..
this question has most likely been asked before many times...
so im gona ask again for the haters.. lol
Just wondering for an eg civic, what are the best modifications you can do to improve performance..Eg. Headers... V-tec controller....???
the only modifications on the car already has an 2.5 inch exhaust to the dump-pipe, pod filter with cold air induction... customized by me =P..
but yeah.. the reason being is a mate has a dc2 type r.. and i wanna atleast keep up!!
i would love to do a engine conversion... but dont have money atm..
can anyone give me a few list of modifications that has been done in the past, which has been successful
AND
i was thinking of gettin a v tec controller, but dont know whether if it is worth it.. Some guy workin at autojoy said that some v tec controllers can start vtec from 3000 rpm!!..Is this true?? is it bad for the engine??
thanks

suspension mods are the best things to do to them... because they can handle so so well.
putting in thousands of dollars are not going get you much more power unless you turbo the thing. The $$ vs the power gains are minimal with bolt ons unlike turbo cars.
I've been doing my EG from suspensions bits first and it's way more fun when it can turn into a corner 3 times as fast as standard and still feels very tight and stable. Just starting with a few braces, I only got spoon springs to start with and they're fantastic ... very comfortable ... and just got my ASR brace and 24mm rear sway bar put in today and it's amazing what it can do now :) I've been going out every hour to have drive :) Now I've only spent just under $1k only and already it has transformed the car completely. Feels like a different car.
so when that's all sorted ...then comes the engine swaps and turbo charging :)

i would recommend swaybars 24mm front 22-24mm rear with asr brace. front and rear strut tower braces and any other brace you can get your hands on and more front castor angle. that should keep up with the dc2r through the twists but your NA d series engine in the eg is never going to keep up with the b18.

you wanna keep up with a dc2r with a EG on straights or on corners?
straight race GG to you, don't bother throwing anymore money into it unless you are going forced induction (assuming we're talking D)
Either an engine swap or forced is the options you have to beat a dc2R straight line racing.

Turbo D ftw
B18C2 in an EG is much quicker then a DC2R due to the weight of the car being lighter
Suspension work first is always the best idea

What model eg is it? Cos a vtec controller aint gonna do shit if there isn't any vtec :P And honda set the vtec crossover where it is for a reason. Unless the car is getting moderate engine work there isn't a need to change it. Do your suspension like the others have said and save your pennies for an engine conversion / forced induction.

If it ain't VTEC save for a conversion like the guys say if it is Suspension is a real good start Iv had good results from my old B16a Gen1 DA Integra just had stainless intake which runs the K & N filter in the inner gaurd in front of the front drivers wheel home job aswell went to the exhaust shop an raided the off cuts, Even had standard exhaust, had a good set of plugs leads oil an was beating Wrxs an Lancer Gsrs with a rolling start but i was driving it real hard...
You don't need big money just just the good basics an some good suspension.
