Yea disconnect the battery. Any when you get back make sure to change all fluids, including fuel, and make sure to prime the engine and crank it by hand so you dont do any damage to it.

put it up on stands so your tyres dont go out of shape (if you can) if no one will be driving it.

Yes, or even take the wheels off. you should be able to get a cheap insurance on it, while you have the wheels off.
Also, do not put the hand brake on. I left my wagon up on bricks, and my sister got in while i was away, and pulled the hand brake up. lol it's not gonna roll anywhere while its up no bricks.

Also, if you can get your hands on some Pro-Ma MBL8, run that thru the engine, this will ensure you turn the motor over perfectly when you get back.

Also Pro-Ma PT5 will keep the top end of your engine slick.
check out a demo if you can, i couldn't believe how good it is.
