Hi guys,

I have a slight cracking in my Dizzy Cover/cap on my DC2R.

Just wondering if you think it worth replacing - it's like $65 from Honda.

Also wondering... what impact would this have on the car (Not a good spark(?)), I have heard it is bad, but why?

Thanks,

-Rix

$65 might as well replace it. Dont know if its bad or not but if its broken might as well replace it before it gets worse.

I'd rather replace it for $65 now, than have it fully crack and drop off while driving at 110km/h on the freeway, forcing you to tow your car back for over $100.

Will do, what issues can I expect with a cracked dizzy cap?

cracks create a path for the spark to jump and cause misfire

yup as above. Its a once in a (Car) lifetime event. So stop being a tightass and do it.

Yeah yeah yeah... I was going to do it... regardless.

I just wanted to find out what the impact would be.

how does a dizzy cover develop a crack?

Mate, if I knew I would tell you. I guess it's because I have engine mount inserts, and therefore get more vibrations etc throughout the whole car. After revving etc, and backing of at 8000rpm, eventually it will crack the plastic casing.

Apart from that... i'd have NFI.
