For some very odd reason my dc2r is starting to get a really good fuel consumtion of 8.3L/100km for the last 3 tank straight. While before the change it was about 9-9.5/100km. I just drive normally most of the time and I shift at 3500rpm every time cept when I reach 60 and just go into 5th until I need to speed up I change back to 4th. I always rev match when going down a gear and my driving style have been always the same.

The only change I know of the top of my head would be the weather, and the changes has started since its gone cold so just wondering if anyone else have notice this with their car?

Oh and I calculate the fuel consumption by having a full tank then when I need to refuel, most of the time when I have used about 40L, I divide amount of fuel need to top the tank again with the km i have done since last refule then times it by 100.

P.S I have got to say the dc2r is a really good daily for its fuel consumption even as a performance car :D especially during this high fuel price era.

Also. ive noticed that my fuel comsumption gets better the closer my oil level is to the lower limit on the dip stick.

in the summer the fuel comes out of the pumps hot n expanded, n by the time it gets in the tank it cools down n you get less fuel out of it. in winter though its the opposite, so you get a little bit more out of every tank.

also paying the keen attention to how you drive since this issue first threaded will have kept you to a lower consumption rate. Can't complain at all too!

Also cooler air makes for more efficient ignition with the fuel, last nights top up revealed 7.8L/100km for me, included a few inefficient accellerations.

i think it's the winter, make sure u have good thermostat for winter to help engine stay hot.
also whoever says that car use less fuel when the oil is near the lower end of the dip stick, i notice to same too. my engine leaks a little oil so im gonna just top up a little now.

8L/100km is really good woo.with ALOT of city driving im always around the 10L/100km mark and sometimes MORE than 10L/100km in heavy city traffic driving..

but funny thing is... last week i drove up to south-west rocks (between Kemsey and Coffs Harbour) from Sydney and back. total done over 900km and the refuel end up with about 4.8L/100km... that means 1 tank goes 1000+ kms ? LOL, gotta love it!

yes no shit, i fill full tank, press the trip-meter, drove from sydney all day way to Kemsey (450kms), the arrow shows just touching half tank on the higher side, i think may be i'll fill up to full again, and it gets full at 22 liter.
so... around 4.8-4.9L for 100km. and the car was fully loaded.

looks like next time im driving up to Brisbane without filling up >_<
