Noisy head / B16a valve clearance ?

Coming from a stock Y4 I'm still getting to know my B16. There's certainly a lot more engine noise than my D and my old man reckons the tappet clearances were probably made more loose on purpose because it's a built head. Does this sound right?
Do big cams cause more engine noise? I got S2 Pro1 cams with S2 springs and retainers.
Just wondering if I should be pulling the cover and setting clearances to factory spec or do I tighten/loosen them to allow for the cams?

Skunk 2 valve springs are extremely noisy sounds like worn valve guides/extremely loose valve clearances. Should try supertech/toda.

Inlet 6 thou exhaust 7 thou not too tight
