Now that I have the Ody back from the shop, it,s time to book it in for some new shoes. I've picked the wheels - now I just need to settle on tyre dimensions and brand.

As already stated, there is SFA chance of being able to lower the Ody, so I need your help. I'm thinking 18's with 225/40/18's: does anyone have a side on photo of their Ody with that wheel & tyre combo? My preference would be for un-lowered photo's or pre and post lowering photos - or, if the car has been lowered, some details about the size of the drop.

Ultimately, I would like to avoid the situation where I drop some cash on wheels only to find that it looks like it,'s been lifted or looks funny with the new wheels.

If you don't care about any of the above, then at least we get another thread with pictures of Ody's in it :)

I promise to return the favour by posting pics of my newely shoed bus if I choose to go ahead.

just put some 20's on it, lower it a bit then the missus wont suspect anything because it will still have good ground clearance. here is mine with 20's 225/30/20's

The Honda Absolute comes with 18" standard. probably lowered on sports setting suspenion, 15mm-20mm lower perhaps?

Mugen one probably has the same setting

Absolute suspension is exactly the same as the normal Odyssey's. Not too sure about the Mugen suspension, read that its slightly harder and gives approx 25mm drop

Your profile for 18's is too small, should be 225/45/18. Using 40's will give you a smaller rolling diameter as compared to stock, this will result in wrong speedo reading and may result in brake failure. I would recommend Bridgestone Potenza RE001 only because I'm currently using them.

I've only got pics of mine lowered

Thanks for taking the time to host the photo's really appreciate it, and the tyre suggestion. Three questions:

Is 225/45/18 the dimensions of the tryes that you are using in that photo?
How much is your bus lowered by?
Is it just a change of springs, or more comprehensive?

My 3 answers :)

1. Yep 225/45/18
2. It's not a bus... its an underpowered sports wagon ;). I think roughly about 40mm. I've got a 2 finger gap between tire and arch.
3. Originally changed springs only, this lowered it by 30mm. The pic above is on coilover suspension.

The're all picked out, but they have been out of stock at Taleb Tyres - so I was waiting for a while. As it happens now, I'm about to take some time off work so I'm deferring for that so that I could take my time and shop around a little rather than attempt to shoehorn it into an already weekend schedule.
