Hi all,

You might have already noticed some banner advertisements on the site primarily on the home page and the forum page.

I've decide to outsource the advertising and will see how things progress. If there are any issues with the load times (the ad server is not the same as what OH is hosted on) then let me know. I'll be monitoring things too.

I've already found when going to the forum index page, it loads alot slower than it used to.

If using F'fox just get the Noscript add-on.You can set it to block ads and banners.Works well.

since all this advertising stuff why not look at better hosting ? Instead of sitting on this shared area with 145 ish odd other servers lol.

i minimsed the advertising. it still runs exactly the same as it did before for me

how much mula you getting for the ads wyn?
just my opinion but i reckon it makes the site look cheaper

moving countries isn't exactly a simple option to stop ads lol

I personally have not experienced any problems with these added banner adverts.


IMO, good work wynode,
Banner adverts are a great way for Ozhonda to build some good relationships with say insurance companies/manufacturers/parts shops etc.
Who knows, may even be able to organise some cheapies/freebies :)

no issues with speed, i just minimise them

but i despise ads alltogether

at least the old add banner was car related only...

the new ones feel like ive gone onto the hotmail website or something, lol

Good to see the ads are gone. Main page was slower. Car related ads are ok but the ads that were displayed I don't think had any relevance to the market of this site.
