D15 and D16 interchangability

Hey guys, just a quick question about the interchangeability of the D series motors. I know you can change heads as I believe they are interchangable. I have a JDM D15b and was wondering would the D16 heads decrease compression and increase flow capacity. Also are crower D16 vtec cams possible to be used in the D15 heads? Finally what else, if any parts could be changed? eg. pistons, rods, valves etc.
