Honda Models

Hello All,

This has propably been done many times before. I have done a search and found nothin!

I am a confused about all these numbers and letters that refer to hondas!

e.g. EK4,EK1,EK9,EG6

what do all these mean? e.g. civic type r? anyone got a table or something that will detail all the models to there model numberS?

EK2 (1.3L SOHC non-VTEC? 3/3 door)
EK3 (1.5L SOHC VTEC 3/4 door)
EK4 (1.6L DOHC VTEC 3/4 door)
EK5 (1.6L SOHC ?? 4 door 4WD)
EK6 (??L SOHC ?? 3 door)
EK7 (??L SOHC ?? 3 door)
EK8 (1.6L SOHC ?? 4 door 4WD)
EK9 (Type R 1.6L DOHC VTEC 3 door)
EM1 (1.6L DOHC VTEC 2 door)

Hope that helps abit... i am kinda noob as well so guys correct me if i am wrong... :p

However you will not find the EK9 in there, possibly not the EG6 aswell.

The EK9, is the Civic Type R - come with a B16B, opposed to the B16A of the Civic Vti-R (EK4). The EK9 is awsome, and quite hardcore... just like Elwood. LOL.

For audm EK1 has 2 engine, d16y4 (cxi and gli) and d16y5(vti).
Only d16y5 gets VTEC-E.
