I would give the new Alpine X series a try. I put them in my Euro with full sound deadening and I must say that I am happy with them. If you have the money though Boston Pro Series are the go. I am kicking myself for not putting them in even though I am happy with the Alpines.

boston, morel, dynaudio, mb quart.. one of them should satisfy your ears.
i havnt heard RF's q-series so i cant compare them with the above brands.

well if you have 1k to spend, try the brands mentioned above..
dynaudio, boston, infinity or mb quart reference ...
not really a fan of RF q-series when it comes to clarity..

i have AVI FRM-160 with the HF-30B tweeters........these are second top of the range and sound magical if you amplify them. i bought 4 woofers and 2 tweeters and that set me back just over $3k........sound deadening is a must to get the most from your speakers so remember to budget that in.
if you can afford it, the AVI BSM-160 is the ultimate in sound quality......will cost you a kidney though. try www.metrosound.com.au as they are the sole distributor of AVI products in australia and ask for Hutch (owner).......they are based in artarmon

try get a listen to some hertz speakers. they have a pretty large range that suits most budgets, all the ones that i have heard sound tops. i used to have mb quarts too. they were pretty good considering what they cost, i imagine the higher range ones would not dissapoint

i've listened to Boston acoustic Comp, and they are good...sounds better than the RF-Q...
but there is this front split that i really like but i think it's abit rip-off, DLS Ultimate...my friend got it but he said its abit over 2k...
it's just like you have bolted on a tech-mclaren hifi system in to your car...sound so good...

RF-Q sounds better than Utopia..but that's just what i think...
Utopia perform best with Live scene music or to play DVD on cars...sound good with acoustic music...
lets say u get focal utopias then

seriously mate, dont listen to what people tell you about speakers on forums, i can get you to listen to a set of cheap (sort of) ass speakers that will blow your socks off, what these so-called-experts dont tell you is that a good set of speakers helps in the way of good sound, but if the install is sh!t then no amount of money you throw at speakers will make them sound better than the cheap ass install most people get. it does help that installers "should" know what they are doing, but there are lots out there who call themselves installers and have no idea on what they are doing, i should know, ive fixed shody installs from stores who are suppose to know, but lack the knowledge to do it properly. your call, your money, no one here really cares if you get sh!t, they just recommend what they have heard and thats being blunt and i dont care what people think about me being blunt, but i'd rather say it as it is then baffle people with bullsh!t...

with a budget of over 1k & previous experience with car audio im sure todaek knows installation is just as important so theres no need to ramble on about it. i agree with your whole post but it doesnt really help the op. theres nothing wrong with giving suggestions that he can go out and demo. you yourself suggested rainbows, pretty much what everone else has done. its not like anyone here told him "get this or that, its the best, nothing else compares!".

i did it as a joke, he said over 1k so i put in the mix the most expensive speakers made for cars, now dont get you're nickers in a knot, if they are, maybe you need a reality check as if this forum was a shop i'd say most people talk BS, since its not, why dont people lighten up and have a laugh or learn how to? :p

hmmm...
but i must say a 600aud front component will not have a chance to compete with a 1500aud front split, and thats from what i've experienced.
but now the thing is that we're comparing a 1500-ish front component to a 2300aud component, which is the DLS...
Although DLS really impress me but it comes to my mind that it's really abit pricy...cause cable itself will cost ard 250 min, not incl installation, plus i need to get a really good amp, (ie 2ch 125rms/ch output, or 4ch 75rms/ch or smth else)..and after that i only need to listen out for which subbie's to put in...this setup plus a soothing subbies can make any sound "lover" not wanting to leave their car...just like what my friend's car did to me... :(

you'd be surprised by how much the dearer splits can compete with those dls'.. it all comes down to installation as mentioned.
boston acoustic z/pro, morel supremo/elates, dynaudio esotecs, all the others suggested. i wont say which one i like the most or least cus we'll have different tastes but give em all a listen, preferably set-up well in a car with the least amount of variables possible, which is going to be hard.. but hey thats the closest thing you can get to a fair demo.

then why amps such as Mchintosh is so expensive if compare to Alpine?
5-6k for an amp, which is crazy, if compare to Alpine's top stuff..
thats my friend's setup...mchintosh amp just for the front component, subs using Xtant...
