I'm sick of my stock antenna.I want to replace it.Car is a 96 EK1 Civic Sedan.I never use the antenna but I want it there just incase I do.I want it hidden like the stock one (kinda-retractable),I would love to shave it but I still want the radio there although I never use it...just incase I do but :zip:

What options do I have here?

Yes it is but it's not retracting properly and I don't like the silver/chrome colour.I want to go more stealth if possible and black in colour.

sand it back, paint it.
and just cut the wire that power the antenna.
well not powers the antenna, just the motor wire.

So it just stays down all the time and if I want to use it on the rare occasion I can just pull it up? :)

an easier way would be cut off the antenna signal cord at the back of yr head unit
and then get a hidden antenna kit of ebay, swap it over with yr stock ones
in this way yr stock antenna will stay down forever while u still hv signal for yr radio

if u want u can remove the antenna all together ..there is en electric antenna strip i found at my work (' jb hi fi) its made from aeropro its like a lil stick u mount on the windshield on the inside... pretty hidden... customers have told me it works well...u can pick it up for 20 bucks :D

just pull the antenna plate off (above drivers door), and unscrew the antenna of the plate then just push the antenna into the frame and put an antenna block of plate on..I still recieve FM and Am and its a freeish solution

I never liked the look of the block off plate.

i have a tenna on my car but its not connected lol. atm im just using a wire from the back of the head unit (where antenna meets headunit ) and it is bolted to any metal place on the car with a screw . it works reall good can pick up 96.1 ( in sydney ) very well. sounds dodgey but it works.
