Hey guyz/galz

my dc5r'z been doing somethin weird over the last 2 days.. whenever i try to accelerate (in gears 2-5) the car will rev for a second or two before it actually starts to accelerate.. only started a few days ago!?!

Does this mean my clutch is slippin? Seems a bit strange it would start all of a sudden... any ideas?

BTW my clutch sits quite high as well (heard its normal for a DC5R)

Hi Shane, if your clutch is slipping I'd expect it to slip when the engine reaches peak torque in 3rd or 4th gear which should be about 6000rpm. You could try driving in 2nd gear at 5-6000rpm full throttle then kick the clutch in for a split sec and see if it slips, a bit brutal but if it's gonna slip it will do it then.

Do you have the original clutch and how many k's has your car done?

Make sure theres nothing in front of you. Start the car. Clutch in. Put it in 5th gear. Cutch out instantly. If it stalls instantly, clutch is ok. If it runs on a bit or continues running, clutch is slipping.

During normal driving. Usually it will slip after clutch out going into a new gear especially where engine speed his higher than driveline. Usually once the clutch is engaged it will not disengage.
