it is a very messy job i will tell you that. if you arent mechanically minded then its best for your mech to do this job. do it right the first time.

just make sure to have a bucket or something for the gb oil to spill into and just yank it out by pulling it, may take abit

they just pull out, but you need to be carful of the U/sirclips? can't rem what the're called exactly. You first need to get under and unclip the U-clip, and then they should just pull straight out from the box.

P.S don't hold onto the boot when pulling or you'll be in for an ugly surprise!

yup get a big flathead screwdrier , place it inbetween the diff housing + driveshaft end and "shift" it a few times. The driveshaft should pop out of the housing pretty easy.

To change the boots , you need to either take the entire driveshaft out or pull it thru and swing the knuckle/brake setup around.

You then need to remove the inner UV joint - remove the clips holding the inner boot , slide it down , then place the 3 bearings in a cup etc. Use a rag and clean most of the grease off , get a small flathead or pair of needle nose pliers and remove the top circlip (holds the 3 prong onto the shaft) The 3 prong should slide off. Remove the inner boot
Next remove the balancer if there is one (1 clip and 1 rubber bushing) then move down ontot eh CV boot. Remove both clips , cut the boot away if need be. Get a rag and clean the old grease out of the CV joint
Get new sachet of grease , apply a liberal amount to the cv joint itself and around the joint.

Now time to reinstall , the exact opposite way....slide the new boot all the way down the shaft , make sure to keep as much new grease inside. Place and tighten the 2 new clips. Move up and reinstall / slide down the ballancer (if applicible) and then place the inner boot back on. Slide the 3 prong down , slide the circlip back on. Make sure its held. Then slide the 3 bearings on. smear new GP grease around the inner boot + bearings. pull the inner boot up , top up with grease. Now grab the inner joint , and slowly place it onto of the 3 bearings aiming to "Catch" all three and slide the joint on. This can be a pain and takes time.
Once done ( slide alittle up + down to make sure its held) then pull the boot up and the final 2 clips for that boot. Done really.

thanks Ben, i'm not good at putting it in words.
Only other advise is don't believe your friends when they tell you they know how to do it!

That's how i got broken CV boots to begin with!
