Hey guys, im thinking of starting a little business, where i make subwooder enclosures out of fibreglass which would be made to fit the corners of specific vehicles, i'll be making moulds so just need some feedback what models people would be interested in, anybody here interested in purchasing the enclosures.

Some specifications of the boxes:
Weight: 4kg
Volume: ~30-45L
Subwoofer size: 12"
Grey or Black carpeted
Price: $150-$200 per box or some sort of deal for left and right sides.

Just some feedback will be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Sorry but im not interested but just wondering how are you going about specific car enclosures, do you already have many moulds or is it going to be a wait till you get the car situation then make moulds? good price also.

Im just doing some research before i start the business whether it would be suitable for me to make moulds of certain car's or not, because its a long and tedious process.

Different sub would require different volume.... so your mold will not work, unless those people just want looks and not SQ.

if you make a mold of the area in the boot where you want to mold it for. you could adjust the volume to order by changing how far out the face is. But it seems that you have already thought of this, judging by what you have written.

The specifications will be set, but i have tested alot of subwoofers in one of my enclosures, and alot of the "normal" subwoofers soungs great, For more serious enthusiasts, larger boxes can be made.

when you have your little 12" subs running 500w, the exact capacity of your sub box isn't that important. you can get away with 5l either way. if you look at the spl charts of the sub you are buying, it will graph suggested enclosure sizes for either ported or sealed.

I'm guessing your sub box's are going to be sealed. so 35l and that gives you 5l either way
if you need say 45l, then flip the sub magnet out and there's your extra space.

or... just fill it with dacaron. inverting subs is stupid... they work best in the right way. no offence to everyone that loves to invert there subs lol.. looks cool though

My one definately sounds better inverted, otherwise I would have left it,much easier to control the flipping over in the boot.

hahaaha!!

can this sub enclsure be removed?

im guessing sitting in the wall of the spare tyre?

now that is a nice looking sub!!! if i had the money, id get a jackhammer.... lol not that i would fit that in an integra, but id buy a crappy old car, line the floor with cement, fill the walls in with sandbags, 1 inch thick perspex windows lol and run 2 of those hahaha
dreams are free... jackhammers are not :(

and the inverted sub will especially make a difference if for instance the enclosure you are getting is too small, inverting the sub allows for more free space inside the box.
a serious sub will tell you what it's suggested enclosure size is. hmmm appears i've already outlined this up there ^^^

If you have just 1 sub I would put it in the back left corner to balance the weight out. That would be a good set-up!

if ur just looking for ideas on wat cars to make for, all u have to do is look for the popular makes of cars which people modify, integras, civics, euros would be a good starting block, working ur way upto newer models.

are u doing any in the corners? like full back boxes n things? or at this stage just doing the back two corners?

do one for a type R civic:D

I have one problem with what you have done.

Running the subs that way will have all the sub bass shot out the back corner.

Most bass from a sub comes from the back not the front.

Your boxes look great but they seem to be pointless unless going for looks only.
