hey, I've done some searching and couldn't find the answer to my questions.. so here it is;

I'm considering buying an ep3r and I just wanted to know what are the differences between the 2002 and the 2005 models.

This car is still being considered amongst many others such as an EVO7, Accord Euro and an S2000.

Thanks for the help in advanced!

Different front bar, front and rear lights, seats, different ratio in steering rack, slightly lighter flywheel and about $5000 :)

you should also check about C package option. both facelift and pre facelift had them. it includes stuff like HID, outside temp gauge, power folding mirrors etc.

seat is different only in colour (red in 02 and black/red in 05). style is the same.

so should i go for the facelift or pre? money isn't a problem.

also, out of those 4 choices of cars would the ep3 be the best? I'm leaning towards N/A, because of insurance, but I do want the EVO and also the EURO for the luxury cruiser, so I'm still unsure of my choices.

The ep3 is probably my best bet at the moment but, no offence to any ep3 owners, it does look kind of girly to me. :(

EP3, Euro, S2k and Evo are all different types of cars.

i guess you need to decide what you want the car for and what's your priority.

personally i want a quickish NA that can carry 4 people. so EP3 is my logical choice.

1 - If money isnt a problem, you didnt have to ask the question then! Facelift is always better!

2 - If it is too girly, you can get a fully sick kit for it! If I didnt have kids, I would have gotten an S2000!

If money isnt a problem, then why is insurance??

Agreed, hence why I got it. Doesnt stand out as much as the EVO! Its alot roomier than it looks, both rear seats and boot!

pulled this of uk forums but have seen another place where it lists pretty much all 1500 but can't find that right now.

The facelift model was introduced in 2004. There are roughly 1500 changes, however the main ones are:

Lighter flywheel.
Additional sound deadening.
Different front and rear light clusters.
Different front bumper and grill.
Red door inserts and red inserts on the seats.
Side View mirrors more triangular shaped.

EUDM and JDM EP's are quite different tho!

don't think these 2 applies to JDM. in Europe they have indicators on mirrors but not for JDM.

i reckon you shouldnt worry to much the difference,
just look for low km, no sign of trash
, a1 condition, and best price, once you buy, you going to drive the same model car of ep3R

if somebody try convince you for higher price for facelift, well you got the reason to say its 2008 now, we not living in 2005 2004 or 2002,
noone really care anymore, i also never heard that facelift are faster
since it imported car you must browse around alot for the best price

Philip Lee

the real difference is cosmetic really. should always buy on condition for used car.

i'd prefer a good condition 02 over trashed 04 anyday. but if you can find a good con FL then y not when $$ isn't an issue.

I was thinking of getting 04-05 but decided to go for 02-03, my opinion is what ever year I get it's still second hand car and it's gonna have low kms anyway, so for difference in $$$$ I'll do some mods and I'll be more happy driving 03 model with few mods than 05 stock standard

If I had lots of $$$ i would preffer modded 05 but that's not possible at the moment

also if your think the front of the 02 isn't too good looking, there are some cars that have mugen front spoiler fitted.

or alternatively, buy sai_ANN's kit.
