its similar to creating an LS-Vtec, with the non vtec b18 block and vtec b18 head, or a b16vtec head on a non vtec b20 block...

^Good call, didn't think of that.

It is a carby engine :zip:

it really isnt worth putting a vtec head on that engine. Someone correct me, but i believe you have to convert it to efi before the vtec head will work.

Its probably cheaper to just buy a d16 and wack it in there, along with an efi fuel tank, puel pump, and lines.

But its probably best to just leave it as is :p

yes, most vtec heads for d series motors are efi only. but you can still run them with carbs, just takes a bit more finickiness. but getting the vtec to work with carbs is a whole other ball game. not much to gain from vtec anyway.
if you want power with a d series, head to www.fjdistributors.com and do what i did, and buy a high compression all motor kit, and maybe the kms titanium valvetrain and look around for a stage 2 or so cam. it will cost less than a minime (1500-ish), and will give you waaaay more power with the dual carbs. then get the carbs and ignition timing tuned properly, and 130fwhp is possible depending on your extractor choice.

they have a d series kit. if you cant find it on their website, i recommend going to www.onecamonly.com and messaging them there. i recommend getting the ycp p29 pistons in the kit, as they will offer the best performance when tuned.

i was originally aiming for 100fwkw with my parts combination, and i was told it was possible, but somethings wrong with my system, and me and bisimoto are trying to figure out what. i only managed approximately 78.9fwkw, but at least it stays above 70fwkw from 2800rpm to 7000rpm.
