So my steering wheel seemed to be slightly to the left when the wheels were straight, I searched the forums and on someone else's recommendation to someone else, I went to Bob Jane's to get them to align my wheels/steering ($59).

The mechanic there took a while and when he was 'finished' he came and told me the left rear wheel was bent at a slightly different angle. The only thing I can think of which could have caused it is accidentally scraping the curb on a parallel park, or hitting a big pothole or bump.

He didn't do anything to it in the end, and said he used to work for a suspension shop and gave me the contact details and said 'if I give you the details, would you go see this person etc?' It sounded a bit dodgy to me and he said it could cost $500-$1000 to fix (!!).

So $59 later, my steering wheel's still slightly off, and I need to find someone trustworthy to look at my car and tell me what's going on. And if he's at a sussy shop and can fix it, that's even better.

Anyone Brisbanites free to help or point me in the right direction? Thanks, very much appreciated.

if ur steering wheel is slightly off and the car goes straight after the alignment cant you just take the steering wheel off and put it back on slightly towards the right so its corrected.

i have the same issue but mine is because when i changed the steering wheel i put it on slightly to the left by mistake.
forgot to mark the spot lol.

That was what I thought as well, but I'm thinking I'd like someone to take a look underneath to see (and fix if possible) if it's a moer serious problem than just the steering wheel. Anyone know a reliable, honest sussy shop in Brisbane that won't rip me off?

guys dont adjust your steering wheel to compensate for "off" alignment...Why ?
Because one side (L/R) will be X degrees more play than the other and will offput your steering ability slightly relevant to the steering rack~ just get the bit adjusted/replaced ~

to the OP , the problem is something bent - either upper or lower control arm , worn bushes. Get it checked by someone you trust

Thanks Ben, I'm thinking I need to get it checked but am still hoping someone points me in the right direction. I don't have enough money to get jipped and still afford to eat at the moment. Help appreciated anyone, thanks!
