What are the differences between the oval and round designs of the xforce twin loop muffler i.e s10 vs s12.
Which one would you suggest?
Also with inlet size, if my exhaust setup was 2" would that mean I should be getting 2" inlet, same with 2.25" or can I can get any size and fit.
Is it easy to fit? else how much would I be looking at for installation for a dc4.
Thanks in advance!

i think one is ment to be abit sportier then the other but not much diff. iv had the s10 on a civic sedan before, was pretty good ,quiet deep tone with low revs but sounds really nice with highr revs no tingly sound like a cannon.
if ur getting a catback and rest is stock 2-2 1/4 inch is enough for a gsi.
i would recommend 2inch, any bigger and ull be losing torque.
supply and installation of s10 twinloop catback 2inch mandrel bend costed me $500 should be around that price.

doesnt matter what size inlet you get.. any competent exhaust dude will be able to weld it up regardless of size.. that said though.. will be much easier if you had matching inlet to exhaust piping..

So overall, the oval (s10) vs round (s12) designs are all about looks?

i agree get the oval(s10) it lookes much more better, the s12 looks too stockiest for my liking lol.

s10 (looks like a large oval) is louder than the s12(looks like a barrel).
s10 is abit less restrictive than the s12.
Had both, just depends on what you want from it
looks wise, its all a choice

street=s10
track=s12
remember that the resonator/other piping stuff also reduces sound

run a canon or straught thru muffler if you want better performance.

Just called an Xforce supplier and was told S10 twinloops are no longer in production due to problems with 'whistling' and thus they were only selling the S12 oval design.
Looks like there is no other choice.

true to an extent but resonators do not reduce volume. they 'resonate' the sound and slow them down creating a deeper tone....
the proper ones are "mid mufflers" which are different to hotdogs/resos/etc...:thumbsup:

don't forget sound clip... preferable at noise test standards :)
- muffler tip level
- 45* angle
- 50cm distance
- etc

lol... oh yeah...
i'm just curious what it sounds like as i may switch over to the oval one as i've always had my eye on it.... the ITR muffler on 2.5in mandrel with one reso buzzes like an oem muffler with a big exhaust... sounds like a freakin lawnmower... makes me hate the sound of vtec

Does anyone know if I should be asking for them to do up a axel back pipe to weld the muffler on? (for DC2/4)
This should bump up the price of installation I'm guessing, just wondering whether its necessary.
Thanks

Just an update, went to install early this morning but realised that I had been sent the wrong offset. Give me a couple of weeks before I get a review a up...

Offset for a muffler? I know about wheel offsets.... but whats the offset for a muffler? I'm looking at getting something from XForce too... either the S12... or half thinking about the varex cannon type. Anyone know the correct (optimal) piping diameter for the FD1?

Offset for a muffler is like where the placement of the inlet is. So for our car types, the inlet offset should be on the right as our exhaust piping is on the right hand side etc
Reason I bought the S12 was for its sound/flow, shouldn't be too drony

Or if you want best of both worlds with adjust-ability, the varex. You really can't go wrong with either lol.
Check out RaceNation, thats where I got it for cheap.
