View Full Version : D15B4 to EFI using the SAME ENGINE!

Sup kids

just an idea, Say if you used the Manifold from a D15B from a EG GLI, and done all the EFI work, would the car run fine?

Most efi conversions involve a swap of engine, but say if I want to keep this engine and just make it EFI using the Manifold etc.

Any insight?

doesnt the d15b4 in the eg also use the dual carb arrangement? in most cases, you would need a new manifold, and in most cases, you're better off spending that money modifying the dual carb motor than converting to efi. efi conversion can get pricey.

I believe justin OP would be doing the carby to FI conversion himself (with some halp)

makes much more sense time wise and $$$ wise to just get an entire EFI engine , wiring , fuel tank and other bits than to convert your carby head to EFI.

Since there are motors going for 100 odd bucks + free rebuild, might aswell do that.

would you also need to change the ECU in this efi setup? my carb comes with a control unit but i dont know whether it is an engine control unit...

yer don't do it man,turbo is zzzz unless in b series, for one thing b series ill admit leaves the police clueless about wtf is going on lol. But as soon as they see a turbo in any car , lol they start going hard out on you. which is not good on red P's
