well everyone i bit the bullet and got the rear section of the ODC exhaust changed, as i wanted quad tips on it, but was unable to do that unless i changed mufflers also, so i had that done, i was worrying about the noise difference, but it is very slight, nice note at idle and no sound when cruising inside the vehicle at all, which is what i wanted, got it all done in polished stainless, biggest thing about it, is the difference in power is unbeleivable, if you look inside the stock mufflers the pipe size drops to three quarters of an inch, not good for making power, it accelerates so much better and in my opinion alot smoother, i cannot beleive the difference, dont think im just thinking this either, im no stranger to power, my other car is a 10 second holden torana. i will get some pics up, but i can say i highly recommend it to anyone thinking of doing this

its a bit hard to tell in the pictures, but the tips actually follow the contour of the bumper

Hmmm, didn't think just by changing the mufflers you would get an increase in power. Would you think if a custom one was made up it would do the same?

quadrio
24-05-2008, 10:07 PM
yeah, the biggest problem is the rear mufflers where the internal pipe size drops to three quarters of an inch thats where the power is lost

baboo

Looks awesome, very euro like, not protruding at all.

so the new system consists of 2 new mufflers and tips and welded onto existing pipe?

how much $ set you back? :)

JunYu

hey that is REALLY nice! haha looks better than my euro exhaust!

quadrio
25-05-2008, 10:36 PM
yes the mufflers are polished stainless aswell as the tips, it cost me $700, fitted which included the stainless piping to join them

quadrio,

Hey mate, how you find the new exhaust so far? most importantly has the mileage improved or dropped with the new muffler?

quadrio
03-06-2008, 09:12 PM
so far so good fuel economy has improved to about 10l/100km which is the wife driving stop start around town, whereas on the highway has gone down to 8l/100km

DC4Integra98
03-06-2008, 09:37 PM
is mileage supposed to improve as a result of a new muffler? I thought you would have needed the full system to reap any benefits other than noise.

quadrio
03-06-2008, 10:49 PM
its because it was so restricted with the standard mufflers, i wouldnt say a massive saving in fuel, but it is noticeable

03-06-2008, 11:56 PM
fair enough, that makes sense

good efforts..... not feeling the painted caliper and engine bay bits, the front grille just..... like swelling lips (no offense) esp with billet lower grille now on. what's the spec on the 20"? any body works done to fit them on? btw, u need a cover for the removed rear wiper, Garson DAD will have it.

oh, u may have to adjust the rear tailgate as does not lineup properly

Atjo

Are you using caliper cover? I saw a text over there.

felixd
15-02-2010, 06:51 PM
brake caliper cover = LOL i hope its not

quadrio
15-02-2010, 10:13 PM
what's the spec on the 20"? any body works done to fit them on?

theyre 20 x 8.5 with a 225/35 tyre, no body mods at all, there is a cover over the rear wiper its a billet machined piston, and yeah i fixed the tailight on the weekend, that was my bad from when i refitted it after fitting the towbar

yes theyre caliper covers, i dont care what anyone thinks at the end of the day theyre covering up a dirty caliper, and will stay until the 6 piston conversion arrives

^^ tks quadrio. how abt the offset on rims? omg, 6 pot front and 4 pot rear?

quadrio
16-02-2010, 10:52 PM
theyre +43, offset, have found out today that brakes will be 8 piston front with 6 piston rears

^^ you are mean..... i'll make a guess for the brand....."K Sport".... let me know if i'm correct quadrio

8 piston front, 6 piston rear!!
That is like evolution said overkill especially for a n/a 4cyl ODY.

Just do 4 piston all round with bigger Rotors on the front, that would be more than enough.

AusAccord
17-02-2010, 10:53 AM
depends on the future mod..... if HKS Turbo kit on the list then its suitable...... actually still a bit overkill..... anyway just do it!!

evolution
17-02-2010, 11:14 AM
I'm not mean.... ;) you should see the comments his mates leave on his face book.
Quadrio, have you had a chance that see if the calipers will clear your rims? Might have problems cos usually BBK needs full faced rims with a bit of a curved design to
clear.

baboo
17-02-2010, 11:15 AM
maybe Quadrio is going to retro fit turbo'd CB32 engine between the rear axle, then 8pot/6pot is not so overkill :)

If I win lotto, that's what I'll do

yes theyre ksports, and when im getting them for the price i am, nothing is overkill, as for engine mods, i know i shouldnt as its the family car, and i have my torana as my toy, but have been looking at possibly supercharging

Anyone know where i can get good value for mufflers for rb3? or exhaust systems? was thinking remus, any suggestions?

quadrio
07-03-2010, 09:59 PM
well time for a change in rims it seems, so i currently have a set of billet rims being made in america to suit, they are a vip looking design, and still allows me to have 3" of dish, now i just have to wait 4 weeks till they arrive

Atjo
07-03-2010, 10:06 PM
What brand? Why only 3" :)

quadrio
07-03-2010, 10:18 PM
cause they still need to clear the big brakes, and stay in the guards,

quadrio
07-03-2010, 10:19 PM
oh and they are ID LUXURY WHEELS

quadrio
11-04-2010, 04:16 PM
ok bit of a update here are my billets we had made, theyre 20x9, had them made in the usa and must say theyre very well finished, would of liked more dish but unfortunately that is all we could get in there

Nice, should go wider or lower offset for the rear.

quadrio
12-04-2010, 12:20 AM
couldnt go anymore than that without it rubbing, theyre as far in as they can go, and as far out as they can go without rubbing at that height

Atjo
12-04-2010, 04:54 PM
You can roll the guard or put negative camber :)
