i have been told the pan is leaking, but very slow and was told it can be done later.
sometimes when i have the window down i can smell oil burning.
it doesn't leak onto the driveway or anything. the bottom of the pan is just coated in oil.

also it's not just the pan...there is some oil under the gear box as well...is it possible for the oilpan to leak right across to the gear box?

anyone know if leaving it for a while like 5000km til the next oil change is a problem at all?
will any type of leak cause any pressure problems in the engine? in my case is anything under more load?

also i noticed something near the oil pan as well.
i don't know how to explain it.
face the front of the car and look at the oil pan directly above you. walk back slightly and there is some rod with a cylinder on it...
i was told it spins and you can see on a wall behind it and it looks like that cylinder has been spinning trail of something onto it.
anyone know what that is?

also how much is a new pan anyway?
to install it you gotta drain all the oil, take out some bolts and just seal up the new pan right?
also i'm not sure if it's the pan that's got a crack or just the seal.
can the seal just be changed? but i've heard these pans come in one unit only with the seal...

Mate could be as simple as ur sump gasket..
but get it checked out by a mech.
Could also turn out to be the crank seals or something else.

You prob dont need a new pan (sump) unless you've damaged yours.
but to install it could be a pain u might have to remove the bridge from under the car and or remove the cat. had to do that for my integra LS..

but take it to a mech they should be able to give u a free quote.

forgot if honda sumps come with a gasket, from memory I think they don't and use sealant instead. But on that note yeah just get it fixed if it's just a sump gasket, that's easy and it shouldn't cost an arm.
