places like ozzy tyres do a drive in dre out service for $400 ish bucks if im not wrong? but for that you just get a lowered stance, any performance addition is purely in your head.

agree on 1st comment, strongly suggesting against the 2nd comment...

get lowering springs installed...looks like the other guys are saying $400 installed, which is not too bad:)

your cheapest is never going to be the best. i would suggest lowered springs. drive in drive out at ozzy as said before 400

Run without springs...Just get rubber bushes to space the height...
That should really be fun.

I was in your position, not knowing what to do. However, lowering springs is the way to go mate. For king springs per say, it will cost around 350 installed if you have a good look around. Would be cheaper if you purchased separately however.

compressing springs is just as bad as cutting them

lol just cut your springs. they may pop out after abuse but you can do it yourself atleast lol

the cheapest way is to chop your springs, but the best ways is to buy a set of springs off the net or at autobarn, then buy a set of spring clamps and have a 14mm spanner, 14mm socket & ratchet and a Alan key for linkages/shockies and learn to DIY its really easy to do. you'd save your self over $200.

cheers

:)Depends on how much you want to spend.Tyre shops will do it for you, do the shopping, 3 years ago, mine got done by my mechanic all up $450, then 3 months later upgraded to aftermarket shocks as my car's shock was old/stock, with your car's age your best bet is to change the factory shocks as well. Im sure most members will agree on this. If you can save and wait till your piggy bank is full, go get coilovers, you can change the height anytime. Deinitely cheapest only change the springs, but for sure, you'll have to change your shocks. My 2 cents for today:)

Adjustable springs(not coilovers) are on ebay.com for $20 just get those and fit them... you can fit springs in your front yard if you have the spring compactor tool

^^

u dont need a sping compressor tool..

Ive changed springs about 2-3 dozen times.. (each blurdy time i lower car i take the out (koni)) ....

its slightly harder to pop the oem spring out but just do it against a wall ;) with everything out of sight.

New lowered springs will normally just go in with a push

fingers cross that the nut on the top cap don't rebounce and shot you in the head.. you will have a bad headach for awhile...
Lowered springs will be okay for now.. but after awhile your shock will wear out due to the fact that it's running at a compressed rate that it's not design for.. but hey that another issue for another day.. :D

rofl. Great advice there :)

You dont need compressors for STOCK SHOCKS. Just like you DONT need to drive with a seatbelt on. Its unsafe so dont do it :)

Guys PLEASE dont attempt to take apart FRONT shocks of any car without a spring compressor. Its asking for trouble and pain. Rears CAN be ok without a compressor...

hahah doing it without the compressors tools is just like a group of man been held hostage and waiting to get shot lol
just hope the bullet don't hit you haha

good analogy there.
Guys here have witnessed myself take off REAR shocks apart without spring compressors , it still does have a decent BANG to it and will shock noobs if they arent aware. Take care with stuff like this guys :)

not really a good mix with standard shocks... you will be bouncing here and there if shocks are not replaced with shorter and more HIGH performance than the standards..

guys, correct me if im wrong...

just had a bad experince with these springs..

if you change springs to lowered ones, you need to change shocks to ones that can cope

anyone giving advice otherwise should be shot

^^ If you boys have no balls you can tire the springs up whilst its still on the car with metal cable...

Than pop it open.. Shouldnt spring at all if done properly

LOL....i would agree with Blitz. Havn't done many shock/spring removal. But spring compressor aint a must. Becareful, wear all the protective gear just in case.

guys while WE have done it , noobs are watching and might try to copy what we say...leading to accidents and possible litigation :)

So in best interests lets try and man mention whats safest to do !

Further to what Ben said, is it better to spend $30 on spring compressors + extra one hour, or severely injured fingers/hand/shrapnal into eyes, whatnot.

You've got a brain, and some common sense. So use it.

i've changed springs a few times without a spring compressor.. and believe it or not i've never seen this BANG that you speak of benjamin.. sure theres a bit of a jolt but nothing really dangerous about it.. havent encountered it yet.. all the times ive changed springs ive used multiple cables ties tied around the springs.. its worked for me.. i think the worsts thats happened with that is i snapped like 2 cable ties.. but i still had like 15 on them.. so was alrite ahaha

woops i forgot to add! i did that at my own risk.. i DONT recommend that you guys try it unless you ABSOLUTELY have to.. meaning uve got everything off and just realised uve got no spring compressor.. cos thats the situation i was in the first time..
