Accord mods.

Hum, I've been thinking about doing some mods to my Accord Euro when it arrives (I know, but I like to plan ahead), so I just wanna ask, what mods are usually useful for your Accords?? Atm, I'm thinking of a new air filter and maybe new exhaust, but dunno if that's just a waste of money.

Another thing I was thinking was new rims/tryes and suspension. What's some good springs?? Eibach? Tien?? I'm getting them not just for lowering but better handling as well. How low are you planning to go? Eibach make good springs, i use Kmac and they have been fantastic (mainly because you specify what height/stiffness you want, but the springs are also good quality). You probably wouldnt want to replace your shocks straight away, the Euros are meant to have quite a good setup.

Exhaust should be useful, i havent seen what the intake is like so cant really comment on that.

Just keep in mind, you most probably wont have a warranty after doing such mods...

CL7's market isn't exactly what I'd call booming at this point. Exhaust is basic power upgrade, that needs to be done if you want to increase power. You've a few choices now, Phrase Racing Japan / Feels - Honda Twin Cam Japan / Mugen.

A typical catback will set you back at least $1.3K~$1.5K landed in AU, if you go for a twin-output, you'd have minimal gains on a catback, max 5bhp, if you want more power than that, you'd need to go single N1 output instead. While to complete the exhaust upgrade, you can bolt-on headers, currently only Phrase has headers for the CL7 but I'm expecting Spoon to be launching some very aggressive products as well, give it some time. Spoon is in the midst of R&D for the CL7.

Suspension setup? Tein hasn't released anything so with everyone else, this is once again a choice of either of the 3 above. All in all, give it more time and exercise caution before jumping straight in, unless you know what you're doing. But yes, you will void your warranty once you start doing modifications, which I don't think the main owners of their cars will be too happy to find out something doesn't get covered.

Finally, what sort of budget figures are you talking ... ? I don't see much need to do up an already very good car from Honda straight out of the box with good performance from Japan. :arrow:

Yeah, I think I'll hold back on the bolt on mods until my warranty expires and when there's further develop the CL7/9.

My budget is pretty tight, around $1-2K. I think I might just go for some bigger rims for now and look into other mods later.

put on some 18X7.5's and if u ever need to make a warranty claim just swap on the 16's again =P

hold off on exhaust till warranty finishes..
