hi guys i found these voltage to pressure conversion for our map sensor:

max reading 1760mbar =4,96v
1700mbar=4,80v
1600mbar=4,52v
1500mbar=4,25v
1400mbar=3,97v
1300mbar=3,69v
1200mbar=3,42v
1100mbar=3,15v
1000mbar=2,87v
900mbar=2,60v
800mbar=2,32v
700mbar=2,05v
600mbar=1,77v
500mbar=1,50v
400mbar=1,22v
300mbar=0,94v
200mbar=0,67v
100mbar=0,40v

can anyone confirm these?

I assume ur talkin stock map sensor.

Last time i saw a map sensor graph,it was actually inverse to the readings u have given above.

approx 3V = 0 mbar
approx 0V = 1000mbar

My memory could have failed me,but i'd try some more research before using the figures u give.

hmm okay ill keep looking into it

its cool i got it

0.5v = -25 inhg
3v = 0psi
5v = 9.824 psi

Yeah dude,forget what i said about that inverse crap,i dont know where i saw that.
However,im actually sitting in my car as i read this thread,so i pulled out the multi to see what was goin on.
As u can imagine im just idling so hard to put load on the engine.
Anyway i got

at idle 0.84 V = about 4psi

and with quick short stabs of the throttle to show some load i was seeing about 2.8V = 14psi

so i dont know where u got those figures from,but id be interested to know.

are u talkin stock map sensor?

so it looks like your initial figures were correct.

weird, my stock sensor shows the second values as valid.. this is on a 97 ek1

ive looked through one of the civic manuals i have and it matches the second figures

I just looked up my integra B18C manual & just realised where i got that inverse crap from,i just remember seeing the slope of the graph,but now i look at it again,its actually measured against vacuum not absolute pressure.

But anyway,this confirms your original figures & im fairly sure all honda map sensors are the same.It confirms my readings as well.Plus i remember reading the stock map is good for 1.8 bar boost which also confirms your original figures.

It shows approx 2.9V = 0inHg = 14.5psi(or whatever atmospheric pressure is at the time).Heres the pic from my manual,

EDIT: Duhhh,i just read your second figures again & theyre roughly the same as your first ones,im so confused,sorry for stuffing u around,u were right the first time,i should learn not to trust my memory.

Its 1.8bar, atmosphereic pressures.

This means that its 1.8bar - 1bar (our atmosphere)
= .8bar
= 10-11psi is as good a resolution that it can maintain :)

Yeah,u know what i mean Weq,i meant 1.8bar in the boost range as per the original figures,which does actually equal 0.8bar boost above atmosphere,i'll be more careful with my choice of words in the future;)

Sorry man, for once i wasnt trying to have a go at someone. just provide some info to complement yours. lol :)

Its good that u pointed it out,i dont wanna get blamed for someone tryin to run 26odd pounds of boost on one just cos they read this thread.:o

I should shutup & stay out of this thread now,ive already fkd poor mike around twice
